Dmitry turned to Edmund and nodded "I would be willing to participate in full disarmament of MAD in all of its current and future forms from the concept of warfare. But this is not the point I am making. I tell you all again, full disarmament, or Russia will go to war." Zhang Ping merely laughed at the entire concept of the meeting having turned on a dime and got up, picking up his bag. "You must be joking?" the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, with other heads of state of the Bangalore Pact standing next to him, stated to his Russian counterpart. The Chinese general, on the other hand, had finally finished getting his things all set up. However, Dmitry was not amused and looked to Putin and nodded. "This summit is over. The People's Republic and GAPA will—" "Then this is it." Putin picked up Dmitry's nuclear briefcase and set it down on the table, opening it up for him, "This country is now officially at war: with you, and you, and you, and you, and you, and you," Dmitry said, pointing to each of the leaders in the room as Putin logged into the Russian nuclear briefcase.

Edmund put up his hands.
"If that is the case, then so be it." He replied. "War until my demands are met."
He then reached into his pocket and retrieved his cell phone, which he placed on the table, waiting for Dmitry to finish what he was doing with his portable nuclear control unit.

The President turned to Edmund and nodded once more. "I am willing to meet you on this venture, but everyone must start somewhere, mustn't they?" Dmitry watched as his Prime Minister set up the codes before he turned on the TV, showing a map of the world theater and the locations of all Russian missile launchers. "The Russian nuclear arsenal can destroy each of your countries 20 times over," Dmitry then turned to his computer pressed a button saying "готов," "and all...at the push...of a button." Dmitry then pressed down on the начинать button, and video feed came up of Russian missile silos and Topol-M ICBM erector-launchers releasing their payloads, starting a series of murmurs and surprised yelps at the sight. "It's true," Dmitry stated, slapping his hands against his sides, "Yeah, I pressed it." "You have lost your mind!" General Ping exclaimed, his eyes darting back and forth to the video feed of the ICBMs launching as people scrambled to try and figure out what just happened. "It's all relative," Dmitry stated, taking his seat once more and taking out his personal computer, "You have 30 minutes to an hour to decide." Immediately, the Bangalore Pact started calling their homelands, and General Ping was trying to get Premier Xingmin Wu on the line, while Dmitry sat back and played some games.

Edmund sniffed and leaned back in his chair, putting his feet up on the table to relax.
"So, how about you and I have a drink, Dmitry?" He enquired. "I'm in the mood for a lime and soda water."

"I would like that very much, Mr. Wilson." Dmitry then ordered one of the guards in the room to go and get him a simple glass of milk and to get Edmund's desired delectables. "You too Mr. Wilson? Please, don't buy into his madness!" General Ping pleaded, still holding his phone for the Premier to listen. "We cannot, we will not live a legacy of acquiescence! Bring the briefcase!" the Indian President demanded, and near-immediately, the Indian nuclear briefcase was brought to the table, along with General Ping setting up his nuclear briefcase. The Pakistani Prime Minister instead took out his phone and got on the line with his capital to prepare the nuclear weapons for launch.

"I'm not mad." Edmund replied to the Chinese General as he began sipping his drink. After realising there wasn't enough lime in it, he asked the guard to add some more. Once it was just right, he continued.
"The British Isles is more than capable of retaliating. I don't even need to go through the ceremony of using a nuclear briefcase. All I need to do is wait. Once the submarine on patrol realises that Britain is now a radioactive cinder, one such test being whether BBC Radio 4 is still broadcasting, they'll launch their missiles in retaliation. The United Kingdom will be the last to launch its weapons. Who knows, we may not even need to at all. If you were to accept Dmitrys demands and my own, I'll gladly order our nuclear stockpile to be dismantled under the watchful eyes of The United Nations. Until then, I'm going to enjoy this drink. Now, what's this game you're playing there, President Molchanov?"
He leaned down as he enquired as to the identity Molchanovs game that was on his cell phone.

Dmitry turned to Edmund and showed the game was none other than I-Mario, a game that had only recently come out with the rise of mobile games vs consoles or computers. "I-Mario," he simply stated.

Post by Jürgen Adler on Apr 17, 2016 10:14:14 GMT
(OOC: listen to the music as you read this post. It certainly feels like Judgement Day) Jürgen had listened to each of the offending parties, from Russia, to China, to the United Kingdom, to India. Though he had not heard from the United States. Strange, were they too desensitized from everyone threatening with nuclear warheads from the 2010's? He continued to listen, though when he saw France about to launch their own nuclear warheads, that's when he stepped in, blocking them from pushing their button.
"There is a time and place for everything, but now is not the time for throwing nuclear warheads. Those will be saved for another time." He stated before draining his glass of water and standing up to look at each of the leaders. though when he spoke, almost every part of that room fell silent.
"So, is this how Judgement Day begins? Russia goes to war with the entire world, the entire world reacts in kind?" He asked. He didn't say 'Judgement Day' often. Those who did hear him had felt the sinking feeling of fear and hopelessness settle in their hearts and souls. "The only person I've seen so far whom has come up with a compromise is Prime Minister Edmund Wilson, by proposing a WMD-free world. Well....to that, while an admirable compromise, is not something that can be achieved, not immediately anyway. The United States will always have a Weapon of Mass Destruction of sorts, whether that be the Particle cannon, or the Rods from God. The GLA will always back stab everyone and not give a damn about the Geneva Conventions of 1945, as has been shown multiple times in our political careers. Most notably when Omar Al Ghazi personally attacked me even after total recall of Northern Africa. A mistake on my part, I know. I own up to it even though it saved thousands if not millions of innocent lives.
"However, due to everything that has gone down hill when our Russian friend here," He states, gesturing to President Dmitry. "Has decided to go for Mutually Assured Destruction in an effort to bring about a nuclear-free world. Again, sadly, that is not something that can be totally achieved." He stated, referring to the Chinese. "The Chinese, for example, have developed nuclear powered refrigerators. If we were to tell them to go nuclear-free, obviously that wouldn't work because most of their power derives from Nuclear radiation. Where would that leave them be if they went ahead with that? No power what-so-ever. No electricity to turn on the lights, power their fridges, or to even use the basic commodities.
"Essentially, it has come down to this. We either go WMD free, or there will be Mutually Assured Destruction. Granted, what's left can be rebuilt after the nuclear winter subsides, and the nuclear half-life is at a...reasonably suitable level...but at what cost? Millions of innocent lives would be lost, and it would be on everyone's hands, including my own.
"As much as I would prefer a radio-logical and nuclear-free world, that will not happen any time in our lives. The ECA cannot and will not shut down the entire Solaris Program. Doing so will shut down most of Europe. The ECA has already forgone coal, nuclear radiation, and cold fusion in preference for transforming the energy of the sun that it provides for unbridled energy. Europe has already deactivated the smaller satellites used currently as weapons. But as Supreme Commander of Europe, shutting down the Solaris Program would end only in disaster.
"Therefore, instead of shutting down everything, I will have the best of the best of my own engineers and designers to un-arm the current stockpiles Europe has in favor of attempting to halt this possible nuclear Armageddon."

Dmitry turned to the Europeans and sighed, shaking his head. "I thought that you would understand that most that nuclear weapons, as well as other weapons of mass destruction, needed to be disarmed and disassembled active-immediately. But, I see that you are quite content with letting the world end." He then turned to Steven, who just looked the same as he had arrived. "And what about you, Steven? Preaching how the United States is nuclear-free when your country still possesses near 500 aging warheads that are still quite usable."

A phone in a separate suitcase began vibrating. It was Dimitry's hotline connection to other world powers.
The man on the other end was the Chinese Premier.

Dmitry turned to the case and pressed a button, resulting in a video feed of Premier Wu. "Premier Wu. I thought you weren't showing up, in video or otherwise. You sent your Chief of General Staff as your ambassador." He then tented his fingers and smiled, "How can I help you?"

Out came a relatively low-quality video-feed, as they are streaming directly from a secretary's computer.
The background of the video feed seemed to be piling with the faces of the many members of the CPC, all glaring with disbelief at the summit. It seems that a CPC General meeting was interrupted by this immediate threat of complete destruction. People in the back were running around, shoving each other out of the way, others were on the phone and on the computer. The entire scene seemed frantic and panicked. In the centre, was the Chairman of China.
"Mr. Molchanov. It has come to my attention that you have in fact, under no pretenses or declaration of war, launched your entire nuclear arsenal at the People's Republic of China. Am I mistaken?"

"Wrong. I told your ambassador that if the world did not clear out their nuclear closets, that Russia would consider it an act of war. Your ambassador refused, I kept to my word, Mr. Wu. I made my intentions clear, and they were denied, and now Russia is at war with all of the nuclear powers for disregard of its request." Dmitry turned to see General Ping, who was still frantically trying to call the Chinese chairman, most likely to get authority to deploy his the PRC's nuclear arsenal in retaliation.

"I understand that you are currently in a summit to discuss the threat of Nuclear War. As far as I can tell, this summit has been going on for only a few hours, and somehow, it has escalated to a point where you have decided to destroy us completely.
Mr. Molchanov, I am unaware of whatever kind of insult or threat my ambassador has made against you, but whatever it was, should not be able to justify nuclear destruction. It seems that your emotional anger has caused you to make a rash decision, and I'm not sure if you realise the consequences.
Let us have a frank conversation, man to man. The decision you made was a rash one-"
In the background, a CPC officer, red with anger, yells out in Chinese, "ENOUGH WITH THE TALKING. THAT DEVIL IS TO DESTROY OUR COUNTRY!! FIRE THE-"
"HEY, YOU," the Premier turned around to face the officer, "IF I HEAR ANOTHER WORD FROM YOU, I WILL HAVE YOU SHOT BEFORE SUNSET, YOU UNDERSTAND?! SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP."
He turns around, and clears his throat.
"I apologize for that. Mr. Molchanov, let us talk about this man to man, human being to human being. I'm not sure you realise the graveness of your decision. Billions of human lives are at stake, as well as the future of our entire species. I want to ask and to convince you to reverse your decision, if it is reversible. A nuclear holocaust will kill millions through their explosive force, their radioactive fallout, and most importantely, the inevitable nuclear winter that will freeze our agriculture and have the survivors of this planet slowly die of starvation.
I believe that you are an honest man, Mr. Molchanov, an honest and passionate man guided by his morals and ethics."
His phone started to ring. In the meeting room, Zhang Ping could be seen on his phone as well, as he has succeeded in calling his leader. Unfortunately for him, the Premier after looking at his cell phone, calmly shut it off, and put it back in his pocket.
"Anyways, Mr. Molchanov, I ask that you prevent this kind of senseless destruction. Our entire species is hanging on your decision to stop this nuclear attack. Of course, if the process you initiated cannot be halted, then there is no point talking, I guess. If it is, then I ask for you to reverse it. I am willing to negotiate terms of nuclear disarmnament, if that was why you initiated this in the first place."

"I am willing to discuss, but my terms are simple: emptying our nuclear closets and, to a further extent, eliminating the MAD doctrine from warfare through the disarmament of other WMDs and super weapons, such as the European Solaris Relay and the Particle Uplink system. And I do understand the graveness of my decision, but I can say right now that if you trust me, you will empty your nuclear closet." Dmitry simply looked in satisfaction to see Zhang Ping nearly throw his phone at the wall in anger and start trying to get the the clearance from another Chinese official.
"I do not mean to sound harsh, but this debacle of nuclear or no nuclear has gone on for far too long. It's been over a century since we opened Pandora's box, and now I wish to close it. I can only do it if you assist me in this regard. I would be willing to start the disarmament process myself if no one else is willing to volunteer, or perhaps you would be the first to volunteer and self-destruct your nuclear arsenal. It would not be the end of nuclear power, but it would be the end of the nuclear weapon and other, similarly catastrophic WMDs."
