Yaounde, Cameroon - 2228 Hours July 31st, 2045As the battle raged in north-western Cameroon, the capital of Yaounde was busier than Americans on a Monday in New York. Although people were busy doing what they were supposed to be doing on their normal schedules, but there was only one difference: the airport was closed due to "maintenance." However, there were people working there: Liquidators. They had been working all day long to prepare for a special run into the battle with special cargo. Three C-97 "Stratocruiser" planes waited at the runway as they were loaded with a special cargo: a group of chemical explosives that would go flying over battle-field and detonate on the enemy below. "This is Salesman-1 checking on the status of the cargo, do you copy?" The Liquidator in charge of loading the cargo, Yuri Ivanovich, a Russian mercenary who came to the GLA in hopes of getting better pay from his clients, took out his walkie-talkie ad started speaking. "Yes. I copy; the cargo is secure and stable. May god help you if it detonates at high altitudes." At this, the Liquidator heard laughing from the walkie-talkie before a response came in. "Funny joke Yuri. How long until take-off?" "You're clear in 30 minutes." "Roger that. Salesman-1 over and out." After a 15 minute delay in which fog had clouded the vision of the GLA soldiers, the three planes took off to the skies and started heading to the designated coordinates, all in preparation for the command to do a suicide bombing should the need come.

2249 Hours, July 31st 2045 Cameroon, The Zone The troops began setting up camp and winding down after a successful day's advance. They knew the GLA might be sneaky, and attack in the cover of darkness, so they had special night-watch troops patrol every sector of their division to look for potential GLA raiders. These troops were specially trained by the Vietnamese Jungle Troopers to counterattack guerilla forces, and they were expected to guard the sleeping Chinese and Nigerian infantrymen. One of them heard a sound, almost like the sound of a plane. He looked up at the night sky, and spotted a faint outline of what looked like a cargo jet. This seemed very suspicious, it was well known for decades now that the GLA-controlled Terra Nullius Zone was a no-fly area. Very suspicious. The night-guard radioed his commander, Colonel Xian, "Sir! I believe I am seeing some sort of cargo jet flying towards us from the south. Could this jet belong to the GLA?" Colonel Xian, being a veteran of the European Insurrection campaign, did not take this as lightly. What if it was an anthrax bomber? "Shoot it down! Orders are to shoot it down immediatley!" "Yessir!" Air raid alarms began to sound immediatley, and this began a panic among the Chinese forces, who all began to put on their gas masks. Vehicle crews rushed back into their tanks and troop crawlers, seeking protection from the potential anthrax bomb. The Chinese did not expect any sort of major air raid from the GLA, so their only weapon against the cargo plane were Recoilless Rifles and Gattling cannons. They were not as effective as Twin Fangs, but they could still potentially dish out damage. As the plane came within range, the night sky was lit up with tracers and searchlights.

Search lights littered the skies, and it was easy for the Chinese soldiers to establish that there were certainly several planes about to fly overhead. From within the plane, the pilots could see the lights they were approaching, and realized that they had no chance of dropping their payload at the target destination. The only practical plan of action, and practical was to be considered at a stretch, was to drop the handling crew out of the plane, and have them disable the spotlights, preventing the Chinese from targeting the planes, unless of course they were extremely lucky.
So, with the entire operation in potential jeopardy, they sent out the crew with emergency chutes. With a lack of proper weapons, they had only the cover of night, and basic sidearms for use in emergencies only. A total of 15 men were dropped. From the planes, the pilots identified a chain of large cables connecting the spotlights. "North-by-north-west of your current position, power terminal directly linked through every spotlight in the Chinese camp. You need to get a detonator on it, then the network will go down, and the planes can go over.
The crews crept slowly towards the Chinese camp, taking care to make no sound. The planes had begun to circle a few miles away. The infantry on the ground were able to quietly subdue the crew on one of the spotlights. However, there was a problem. "Team has no charges for the network. I repeat, we have no charges!" "Understood. Make immediate use of all available short-range weaponry, focus on the connection." "You mean cut it?" "Affirmative."
A vicious spark erupted from the cable, and the lights flickered out soon after. Immediately, the planes made haste over the anti-air position. AA guns fired wildly up in the air, but only a few hit their target, and all planes made it successfully past, more or less in one piece.

Suddenly, all at once, the majority of searchlights simply turned off. This impeded the Gattling gunners visibility, making it much more difficult to hit their target in the dead of night.
"What in the hell happened?"
A section of Night Guards, equipped with specialized night-vision enabled gas masks, managed to stumble across a large section of wire, that seemed to be converging at a point. They followed the wire until they began to identify people, people not in any sort of uniform. The Night Guard Section Commander lifted his Assault Rifle and signaled his squad to move in.
They approached the unidentified men from behind, before raising their rifles and yelling, "WHO ARE YOU?! HANDS UP WHERE I CAN SEE THEM!"

The men turned to face the Night Guards, notably with their hands not raised. "We are the messengers. We stand together, united to the strength of giants. We are the GLA!" At that moment, the Night Guards fired on the GLA crew, and all but one fell down. The man left standing spoke: "And we will not be forgotten... You are too late. Already, our planes fly high overhead, beyond the grasp of you and I. I am glad to be rid of this world if it may lead my great leaders to victory!" With that, the bullets in his chest overwhelmed him, and he collapsed backwards.
Indeed, as the man had said, the planes were out of reach for the Chinese, and by the time the spotlights were brought back online, they were far out of range also. The planes began to descend, as they prepared to drop their cargo.

Cameroon Front, 2250 HoursT-minus 1 Minute until dropThe plan was going as anticipated. Despite the bumps and bruises from the Chinese anti-air, the forces down below had managed to keep them safe."This is Salesman-1 to Salesmen 2, 3, and 4. Do you copy?""Salesman-1, this is Salesman 2. I read you loud and clear.""Salesman-3 is ready to drop the cargo. Where's Salesman-4?""This is Salesman-4, we have a problem. Our wing has been clipped. I don't think we can make it to the target!""Then die for the cause!" ordered one of the Liquidators on-board, and as the planes approached their destinations, they dropped their payloads: little-boy-shaped bombs with a special surprise within.(Farthest down is Salesman-1, next one up is Salesman-2, Salesman-3 is next, and Salesman-4 was not able to drop its cargo, but the cargo did not detonate. It is salvageable by any faction)As the chemicals began to spread as fallout, the fear began to grow as well. People panicked, and shoved and pushed people out of the way to try and escape the cloud. However, to no avail. Although the Chinese forces were protected by their gas masks, the chemical would still be absorbed into their skin and clothes, albeit over a long period of time. In about an hour of the chemical attacks, Chinese soldiers began to shoot their own, screaming of demons and other horrors that they saw. Screams of both Chinese and GLA forces that had been caught in the blast plagued the night.Chad Supply Lines, 2304 HoursJuly 31st, 2045As the front in Cameroon was being pushed back by the fear toxin, there was a slew of reinforcements arriving at the Chad Supply Lines, all in order to stop the Chinese from pushing any further. The leader of this operation was none other than Yuri Ivanovich, the man who helped organized the bombing and reinforcements. "Alright brothers. Stop and wait. We await the next supply line, then we make sure that their supplies never get to Nigeria!"

With the insanity spreading quicker than a jeep could drive, all of the front-line Chinese forces had been invalidated, however the same could be said for a fair few of the GLA defenders. Once again, Omar Al Ghazi had throughly displayed his calm attitude to mass-scale pain and suffering, and GLA forces on the ground knew to fear their leader as much as they should their enemy, if not more so. It came as a major surprise to many that he had even been able to construct these bombs at all, let alone as quickly as he seemingly had, and with one bomb of four as yet undetonated, forces on the ground were greatly encouraged by this latest success. All vehicles equipped with long-range weaponry, or anything that could escape the range of the cloud, began to bombard the Chinese forces within the toxic cloud. There was no doubt that, regardless of the brain damage these poor individuals would have suffered, these men were surely dead. To the North, GLA tanks broke the Chinese line with ease. Though much of the toxin had cleared by then, the effects remained in the minds, and to an extent, the bodies of the Chinese. In his field command, which had previously been under threat from imminent Chinese attack, The Enigma allowed himself to relax, just for a moment, before setting down the letter he had been writing. It read: "For the eyes of the Chinese General only. I say with a heavy heart that you have made a drastic error in your judgment. Of course, if you are in fact deceased, I shall let dead men rest, but my instincts tell me that you have slipped your way out, as you always seem to do with such discrepancy. But enough with small-talk. You have forces currently occupying a nation that is under the protection and control of the GLA, and I wish you to leave as soon as is humanly possible, though I would prefer sooner than that. Your men are a scourge to the land-scape, and to dispose of this pest we have had to employ many measures that surely irritate the warlord. And if you were in any position to have knowledge of he, you would know that he is not one to be trifled with, nor questioned or pestered about any matter that is not of the utmost importance to him, and the fate of the GLA. As such, I now request that you leave, before there is further need for persuasion. So, the choice is yours. Leave, or you and your pathetic army of infidels will be destroyed by the might and majesty of the Global Liberation Army. There is no other option. P.S: I am aware of your upcoming birthday, and as such have requested that a large "Strawberry Surprise" cake be sent to your home address. I anticipate you will be returning home very shortly." The Enigma slipped this letter into an envelope, and began the convoluted process of having a hand-written letter be sent through a large battlefield between two warring factions. However, there were no issues in delivery, and shortly after, he made payment for the "Strawberry Surprise."

0900 Hours, August 3rd 2045 Abuja, Nigerian Federation Rifle guns fire off, as a joint Chinese-Nigerian military funeral is held for General Qiang, as well as the 43,000 dead soldiers of the Sino-Nigerian Front, and the Nigerian 2nd and 3rd Armies. His second in command, General (Class AA) Yun, made a short speech in memory of his former commander. "Shibo Qiang, aged 58, was truly a grand figure. He rose through the ranks honorably, with humble roots as a PLA private in the first war against the GLA. He was smart and cunning, and always knew exactly what to do. At the same time, he was also a gentle soul. Qiang was very approachable, and would never make you feel stupid for asking questions. His strategems and plans were always flexible, and he encouraged staff criticism, and feedback from the soldiers. He was a people's general, and he died that way as well. When the bombs went off, he was out in the Cameroon Jungle, sleeping in the soldier's tents before a planned equipment inspection the next morning, when the chemical bomb exploded only a few kilometers away. He died the same way he has lived, a true honorable soldier. Rest in Peace." This chemical attack, dubbed the "Great Chemical Bombings", resulted in almost 180,000 military casulties among the Chinese and Nigerian forces. This was the worst amount of losses suffered in a single day in all of China's wars against the GLA. This was a huge blow, both to morale on the ground, and at home. Somewhere near Bama, Nigerian Federation However, the attack did not go as successfully as the GLA intended. An entire spear-heading division, the 39th Armored Division, 25,000 strong, was completley unharmed by the attack. For some reason, the GLA chemical bomb that was meant to destroy them, failed to detonate. They sent in a large detachment of troops to the location where the bomb was dropped, and guard it for the time being, gas masks on 24/7 in case it went off. A large convoy of Chinese scientists are to arrive on the scene, and retreive the bomb for further analysis of GLA chemical weapons. Meanwhile, the rest of the Armored Division is to drive south to intercept the GLA attack into Nigeria. Over 150 nuclear-powered Battlemaster and Overlord Tanks drove south, and engaged advancing GLA tank forces. The Chinese depleted Uranium shells tore through the light GLA armor, and the Gattling Tanks sprayed suppressing fire upon GLA infantry, decimating them, and allowing Chinese mechanized infantry to mop up with ease. The counterattack was going well in the plains of Northern Nigeria, however the Chinese Brigadier General, Shu, realised that further south was the dense Nigerian Jungle, where their mechanized assaults would be much less effective. His plan was to continue to push south until trees began getting in the way of tanks, then he would analyze the situation and come up with another plan. As the Armored Division pushed south, the Chinese and Nigerian forces that were relatively unharmed were being pushed back to the Nigerian border, still relatively sick from the chemicals that seeped in through their skin. General Yun needed to act, and act fast, or the entire operation is to fail. The fate of the Nigerian Federation rests in his hands for the time being.

"It appears that your letter to the Chinese General was without recipient. He is dead. His funeral procession was a few days ago." "And they didn't invite me! This is most disappointing. However, we must proceed. From a strategic standpoint, this is a benefit. However, the Chinese have gained resolve. We have crushed the brute force pushing on our front doors, and the battle has a good chance of stagnating. We cannot afford to move forward, for they still outnumber us, and that shall be too costly. As such, we must hold position, until our reinforcements can arrive. Once they are here, we will have greater numbers, and this will essentially be over. However, it is no that simple. We have not incapacitated the Chinese as effectively as we first thought, and a good sum remain, certainly enough to overwhelm us, possibly even by sheer force alone. Reports are brief, but we believe that there is a heavy concentration of Chinese forces pushing from the North.
By pleasant coincidence, they are not far from the fourth, undetonated bomb, near the border. Our forces there will not be enough to stop them, so we must use subversive tactics to disable them. I leave this task to Captain Fuhkinhos. Others, dismissed. It is imperative that this position be held. If an honorable sacrifice is to be made, we can easily set off this bomb, and stop the main Chinese attack. It will not be easy, but it will be all that is necessary to save this nation from the oppression of the Chinese.
One last thing, Captain. Any news on my Brother?" "None yet sir. The last communique was brief and very vague. We may fear the worst." "Very well. Thank you Captain." The Enigma turned away, weariness now clear in his eyes, and had a single person seen them in the last 3 years, they would have said he had changed a great deal. They have no idea...

Captain Fuhkinhos was nervous, as was to be expected. The operation now rested almost entirely on his shoulders, and his men were only just prepared to mobilize at his time of calling. However, he was anxious to see battle again, after so long. At his command was a force consisting of only Militia, equipped to deal with most threats the enemy could throw at them, a total of 400 men. They were able to move quickly through the dense jungles separating the conflict to the north. The Chinese were only somewhat prepared at this location, and by tricking them into entering the jungle, the versatile and light-footed militia managed to dispose of the main guard. 40 minutes later, and they were closing on the bomb, with relatively insignificant casualties. However, the Chinese were well prepared at this location, and a heavy guard surrounded the unexploded bomb. As the bomb was tamper-proof, and evacuation of the area would be too slow, the Chinese were awaiting the arrival of a truck to extract the bomb to a safe location, perhaps to use for their own purposes in the battle. Captain Fuhkinhos surveyed the site, and it appeared impentrable. Though it would not take much to activate the bomb, they would need to be very close, which was a luxury they could not afford with such a heavy guard in the area.
However, the Captain was undettered, and refused to call back to GLA command to request reinforcements in the sector. He had something to prove to the GLA, that he was able and sharp. But for them to see this, he would have to complete this operation with resounding success. Examining the question, he noticed that the truck itself would be too slow off-road, and would have to follow large roads, avoiding bridges, to reach its destination. The obvious problem was that the truck would be traveling behind Chinese lines for the entire time. There was, however, an small munitions structure not far behind the lines at one critical point on the route. The Chinese would not be able to deviate from their route, so destroying this structure as violently as possible would be likely to draw some attention. They waited until the dead of night, and then began the plan.
With night fallen, and a river on their side, 5 GLA militia moved through the river, mostly within the shallows, until they were only 40 feet from the target structure. With great care, they moved forward, disabling guards where they found them, though having swum the river, they had no equipment, so they could not shoot them. It only took a waterproof bag with some matches inside to light up the munitions building. With that, there was a massive explosion, and all Chinese forces closer to the front line were drawn in to investigate. All they would find was a burning building and a pile of unknown corpses, but it was distraction enough for the full GLA force to begin their attack on the now heavily diminished Chinese forces. They began to set up for an ambush. Truck passing by in 3 hours.

0800 Hours, August 6th 2045 The situation has become dire for the Chinese. The GLA attacks have left them crippled, and their frontlines have been retreating for the past three days. Five of the six Chinese spearheading divisions were in complete disarray, while the sixth managed to intercept the GLA attack, and hold them off from attacking the central Nigerian border.
Though their central and southern divisions are left crippled from the attack, it was now time to consolidate their remaining forces. The newley appointed chief of staff of the Nigerian Front, General Yun, began to consolidate his forces. He decided to dissolve the motorized and mechanized division with the least amount of available strength (27% and 39%) to merge with the Infantry and other Mechanized division. There was originally a sixth spearhead division, however it was almost completely wiped out in the chemical attack. This way, the three remaining 'spearhead' divisions will be at almost full-strength. General Yun also began pressuring the Nigerians to speed up basic training and commit troops to fighting. This was an easy task, since the attack was on Nigerian soil, and hundreds of thousands of Nigerian civilians died horrible deaths from it. The Nigerians were eager for vengeance.
Specially modified Troop Crawlers, designed to store and carry bio-chemical weapons were present in each of the mechanized/motorized infantry divisions. Two were prepared to retreive and carry the undetonated weapon, and they were sent along with a the newly-buffed 29th Mechanized Division north towards the bomb. The "Anthrax-Crawler", as it was called by the troops, was in the middle of the entire formation of troops. These trucks were the most strategically important asset of the entire division, and they were to be protected at all costs, especially when carrying the bomb back. 2300 Hours, August 6th 2045 Nigerian/Cameroon Front A huge explosion was heard, not too far from the bomb. Several sections of men from the outer line were sent in recon crawlers to investigate. As they were investigating the bomb, a report was received that a GLA attack had begun, and they had already broken through the outer line. The Chinese forces surrounding the bomb readied themselves for battle.
General Yun had ordered the formation of a multi-layered elastic defense around the undetonated bomb. The outermost line was composed of several Motorized platoons patrolling the flat savannah. The second line of defense was centered around several strategic gattling gun positions (labelled "MG" on the tactical map) with interlocking fields of fire. The second line had dug-in positions with prepared defenses, however this one was much less mobile. The final line surrounded the actual bomb, with more entrenched positions. Several tank platoons surrounded the bomb, some dug into the sand, others stayed above ground, ready to plug in holes in the line. This complicated system of defense had to withstand attacks for around three hours until the mechanized division arrives to take the bomb. The clock was ticking for GLA forces to make a move. ---
Meanwhile, the truck was still moving along with the rest of the Mechanized division towards the bombsite. The Division assumed a sort of "protect the centre" formation with the "Anthrax Crawler" in the middle. With almost 8,000 men guarding the troop crawler, it seemed impossible for any sort of GLA attack to be successful, however an explosion was heard miles ahead of the convoy. Brigadier Sun radio'd the bomb guard battalion: "We have heard an explosion coming from your direction. Are you engaged in battle? Over!"
Lieutenant Yang of the bomb guard replied: "Yes sir, the GLA have broken through our front lines, however the explosion seemed to come from the direction of the village. There may be some kind of GLA insurrection. Sending recon troops to investigate, over!"
"Roger that. I'll send a small detachment of motorized troops towards the explosion, while the rest of the convoy will find a way around it. We prefer the Anthrax crawler and its guard to avoid contact with the enemy, over."

"It would be foolhardy for us to attack the convoy. Our scouts have indicated that doing so is practically suicide. Equally, the front line of defence around the bomb is impenetrable. On the other hand, we must make a charge for it, before the Chinese can extract it. We cannot risk the chemicals in that bomb falling in the hands of their scientists. We cannot attempt an approach through the river; you never try the same one trick twice. Move 200 men by the quickest, but safest, route possible, north to the road. 250 will move east, for an assault on the farthest MG position. We should be able to overwhelm there, and with luck, move through the town north of there. Despite what I have said, we will send the remaining 45 men upriver, they may just be foolish enough to believe that we would not dare attempt that again." So, each group set out on their given objectives. [Having trouble getting my picture uploaded, it's here by link instead: postimg.org/image/qxzk5fdqx/Hope I haven't defaced your map too much.]

2338 Hours, August 6th 2045 Nigerian/Cameroon Front
"Sir! We have reports that the far-west MG unit is engaging! Though they are entrenched, they fear they will be overrun." "Roger, over!" General Yun looked at his map and drew in his reports with a pencil. He contemplated for a second, then radio'd the front commander of the two Machine gun units. "Lieutenant Shan, this is General Yun. Hold the line for now. If the enemy units become overwhelming, and you know you cannot win, retreat to the town and establish defenses in the streets. Your position right now is very hard to reinforce, so please order a strategic retreat if you deem it necessary based on your judgement, not your honor. Understand?" "Affirmative!" A second radio message came in. "More enemy units spotted in the village! They seem to be making a second attempt up the river" Radio'd an officer from one of the forward units. "Send the motorized unit to garrison the small apartment buildings! Do not let the town fall into the hands of the GLA." If the town was lost, the whole operation could be at stake, and with it, the entire war. General Yun knew it very well. Luckily for him, he will only need to hold out for one more day. It is estimated that the convoy should arrive at around 1400-1600 Hours the next day (August 7th 2045). It was only a little longer.

"The Chinese are well prepared for us; their blockades grow stronger with every passing minute." "Then we must ensure that not another minute passes. Push the MG site to the west, scatter your men throughout the area, make them think they're outnumbered." The Captain was hardly prepared for the new intelligence he had just recieved on the Chinese defensive positions, let alone the fact that his reputation (and possibly his life) was at stake.
The 250 soldiers to the west fanned out, spreading thin, moving fast across open ground, crossing over where possible. As planned, several of the Chinese soldiers became paranoid and felt heavily outnumbered. From all positions out of range of the next MG along, they pushed, ensuring that the gunners had to spread their fire thinly. Many troops remained low, sprinting between cover points to get closer to the gun. When around 100 men were in position, They ran in on either side of the road, and soon the MG was disabled, and most of the Chinese men were fleeing. However, they were not without their wits; they spread well throughout the open ground, making themselves difficult targets, and appeared to be re-convening further up the road. With no vehicles at their disposal, the GLA soldiers were unable to stop the Chinese from evacuating, but met within the camp with minimal losses.
To the east, 200 militia were as of yet unseen by the Chinese gunners, but too far out to be of any real use. They proceeded cautiously along the road, wary of what the Chinese may have in store.
In the river, the 45 militia were also following their directive to spread thinly. They had cleared a small camp of Chinese soldiers, clearing the open ground for the western task-force to move in. They began their attack on the MG immediately west of the River, though mostly to draw their fire. Once the Chinese were fully engaged there, the west task-force moved in quickly from higher ground to strike the MG. This was mostly succesful, and this time, the strike had trapped the soldiers attempting to escape.
With this, the GLA militia joined together on the road north-west of the MG site, totalling around 280. After a few minutes, they were ready to move once more.
[Sorry for my being AWOL, life popped up without warning.]
