‘Al Ain’- region; United Arab Emirates; border with Oman.
General van Rotterdam just finished his mission briefing. Giving the plans and orders to his officers, answering questions and setting up timetables, David van Rotterdam looks satisfied. “All right. Take your positions. Inform your squadrons. Prepare to move out! Let’s do this!” As he sees the officers and staff members walking out of the room, Van Rotterdam picked up his paperwork. Oman shall know what the consequences will be for housing terrorist militias. Equipped with SCUD Missile Launchers for fuck sake… “This is General Van Rotterdam for ECA Navy Commodore Adalberto y la Mendoza. You are clear to go. Move in. Move from the Gulf of Oman to the shores of Oman. Block their Navy movements and their ports. Keep the entrance of the Gulf of Oman clear. Over and Out” 09:30. Oman Territories.
“Port Sohar blocked General. Saham will be the next.” A communication officer informed the Orange General. “Excellent. I want today that entire coast to be in our hands. Let them move further.” “Sir, militias reported at Dhank and Yanqul!” David looks up from certain maps, and other control monitors, to another officer. “Any knowledge what those militias contain?” “First Intel reports say they contain a small amount of light armoured tanks. A few dozen local rebels, and soldiers equipped with RPG weapons.” He replied. “Send in some Marksmen and Radar Copters. Check for heavy anti-air movements. Check out if the Intel is correct, and how the status are of those weapons… I am thinking to air strike those positions. In that way our armoured ground forces can better concentrate on this, and this area.” 13:30.“Air strike confirmed. Several targets in the Dhank and Yanqul district” “Good. Let Tigers along with several light armoured ground forces take control of those areas after the airstrike. These Pandurs with several infantry squadrons will do. Combine some Gepards and Pioneers with them.” Van Rotterdam orders. “Sir. Disturbing news from the Navy. They spotted several hostile movements at Al Suwayq” a senior officer reports. “Hmmm. Send word to Commodore Mendoza. Authorized to use coast bombardments. Hit those forces before they reach cities or villages to find cover. Thin out their numbers!” “Affirmative. Orders are being transmitted” “Good. Move on people. At this evening I want to get Ibri. In the brink of the morning, I want to be able to see the city of Nizwa.” 20:15
“Sir! SIR!” one of the officers came running in the office of the Orange General. “What is it, mister Koblenz?” “Sir. We are suffering at the Al Khaburah area. First reports are another SCUD Missile was being launched. And… it got us sir. Several tanks, along with some infantry died sir!.....” “Godverdomme, wat een kutzooi. (god damn it what a fucking mess)! Well, don’t stand there!. Pull them back. PULL THEM BACK!” David shouted as the officer haste to the communication room. Grabbing his hat, he follows shortly after to that specific room. “Well?” “Forces are pulling back, sir. Surrounding the city from 5 kilometres distance.” “Good. Now find out where this SCUD Missile Launcher is. In the meanwhile, deploy some Claymores here and here. After we find that son of a bitch, give the orders and let the Claymores take it out. Then once more, take this city. Perhaps it’s some kind of a rebel stronghold. Use caution!”

Generals Log: 6th January 2047
-City of Ibri taken after smaller urban warfare between rebels/militias and ECA infantry and light armoured vehicles. Several civilian structures got damaged. Minor/small amount of civilian and ECA causalities. Rebel survivors retreated to unknown location. Possibility: regrouping and replenishing themselves. -Governorate of Musandam completely under ECA control. -Governorate of Ad Dhahirah for 80% under control. Militias present in the south. Possibility to capture them/arresting them. -Governorate of Al Batinah for 50% under control. High amount of militias present in the east of this region. -City of Nizwa in vision. Situation: low amount of rebels/militia in this city. Rumours about roadside bombs present. Intel reports: the local militia leader plan to slow us down with this manoeuvre. -Governorate of Muscat: turning into a bastion/bulwark of the militias/rebels. January 7th, 2047 09:00 local time; OmanVan Rotterdam felt a slight bump, when the ECA blimp touched the ground of Oman. He picked this lift, along with some reinforcements. When the blimp opens its doors, the Orange General walks through the cargo bay along some Mole Minelayers and other equipment to the light that came from the outside. Taking a deep breath, he noticed several staff members and officers who are waiting for him. “This way sir!” one of them mentioned. David nodded and followed them to the field military command station, just 100 metres further where they are now. “All right, situation gentlemen?” “General, with these reinforcements we can more safely approach the city of Nizwa. Intel reports that there is nearly none resistance, but caution is required due certain hidden road bombs.” Mr Artois reported. “Sir, the Claymore Cannons are in positions within range of this area over here, as well as these regions over here.” Mr Jones pointed to the map on the table. “We also found that SCUD launcher, sir” Miss Janssen mentions. “They retreated it to this site. Within reach of the Claymores.” “Excellent. This is how we do it. Start bombarding these regions over here. Just level that place around the SCUD Launcher. We need to set up an example for those rebels over at the Muscat regions. Let’s show them the price they will pay for this crime.” “What about the militias in south Ad Dhahirah, sir?” ‘Hmm let’s see. Move the Bundeswehr Panzerdivisions number 64 and 73 more to this site over here. Try to lock them down. I want to get those alive. We need more Intel. Also, they will come in quite handy.” David replied and with a “Yes Sir” the orders are being transmitted to the field. 10.15David van Rotterdam took a ride with a small Pandur and Lynx APC convoy onwards to the north east of the Ad Dhahirah region. Meeting up with the local commanding officer, he wants to be at the Claymore site in order to see first results. David greets Lt. Gibbs. “Are we ready lieutenant Gibbs?” and the lieutenant just smiled and replied with a classic: “You want us to rearrange the landscape for you, sir?” the Claymores start their bombarding sequence. While the infantry that came along with the Lynx APCs, scatter around the area where the Claymores are firing, some of them turned around and looking with big eyes as the loud hollow ‘BANGS’ bellow over the grounds. The sound of ECA’s most heavy mobile artillery boomed over long distances… 13.30The Bundeswehr Panzer divisions are closing in on a defence site of the militias. Surrounding them, smaller skirmishes occurred. The militias garrisoned and locked them down in a small village, yet heavily outnumbered by the ECA troops. Local army officers decide to let them just run out of ammunition. This way it will become more easier to capture those rebels, as the Orange General had ordered. 15.15Some ECA tanks took damage after a few well aimed RPG missiles. Requiring repairs and medics to patch the small group up, others took the patrolling over. The siege of the small village will be over within 24 hours. 17.45The Claymore Cannons finally took a break after David van Rotterdam orders it. With the same demands, some Marksmen helicopters were send in the field to check upon the SCUD launcher area. Intel will be reported ASAP about this. 19:00Back in the field military command post, David took knowledge of the Intel. The entire area where the SCUD Launcher was reported has been levelled. The Launcher has been destroyed successfully, with some other SCUD ammunition missiles, for reloading the mobile artillery weapon. Along with this, several rebel tanks, and militias were destroyed also successfully. 19:30Muscat is in complete militia control. Further Intel is required in order to come up with a counter strategy. With this information Van Rotterdam checks upon the map. They made however good progress. They manage to reach the Nizwa city borders, disarming several bombs thanks to the Mole Minelayers and their crew. Also, some panzer divisions are already breaching the governorate borders, going into north Al Wusta, and south Ad Dakhiliyah. "Get me a call with Europe's High Command, mr Jones. I need to speak with Mr Adler.."

Generals Log: 8th January 2047 -Governorate of Ad Dhahirah in complete control . -Governorate of ad Dakhilliyah under 50% control. North of this region seems to be more problematic. -Governorate of Al Batinah for 70% under control. Heavily fights in the east of this area. -City of Nizwa liberated and secured by ECA forces. -Already captured militias under custody transported to the U.A.E. Locked in prison, and investigation/questioning are already beginning. Useful information will be discovered for further movements. -ECA navy forces destroyed 2, under the rebels command, Oman warships.
9th January 2047 -ECA ground forces are moving in the Al Wusta governorate, from the south side of the Ad Dhahirah governorate; under 20% control now. -Governorate of Al Batinah for 75% in hands of the ECA. The heavy fights are increasing in the east. Both sides are suffering. General Van Rotterdam orders reinforcements for that area, to help out the current force over there. -Governorate of Ad Dakhilliyah under 70% under ECA control. North is indeed giving problems. Militias are engaging and trying to hold their grounds. -Qarn Al Alam airport being captured by ECA forces. Also, a decent amount of militias was being captured and send back to lock them up, and interrogate them. The Airport is a key reinforcement location. -Before reaching the small port of Filim, a battalion hit a couple of roadside bombs. Being ambushed by surprise, several causalities felt. After 2 hours of an intense battle, ECA Airforce covered the heavily damaged battalion, and securing the position.
10th January 2047 -An ECA Radar Copter was shot down when it was gathering Intel of the situation in Muscat. The crew died. -Under orders of the Orange General, Navy commander Commodore Mendoza was ordered to lock down the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Several ECA navy vessels were merged under command of Commodore Mendoza to increase this mission capacities. -Qarn Al Alam airport now fully operative for reinforcements by air transport. -Governorate of Al Batinah for 85% in hands of the ECA. Claymore assistance required to continue the push. -Governorate of Ad Dakhilliyah under 90% under ECA control. The push continues with heavily infantry battles in the urban locations. Tigers are giving support. -ECA ground forces are moving in the Al Wusta governorate, from the south side of the Ad Dhahirah governorate; under 60% control now. -General Van Rotterdam received important Intel. Waiting on the final word, he is on the battlefield. Personally taking command of a Bundeswehr Panzerbattalion. Several smaller tank battles occurred between the ECA forces and several smaller militia groups. January 11th 2047 12:00 Local TimeGeneral van Rotterdam was on a break. Sharing their lunch outside the Leopard Tank, finding shade from it, they lean against the tank while eating. Several jokes were made and the crew with the Orange General were in a good mood. Other Leopards stopped also in this position, following the example and enjoying some quiet time. They had a rough morning after all. Fighting several smaller battles and skirmishes, to destroy (captured) militia armoured vehicles. They did a good job. Destroying 7 tanks, 4 armoured vehicles and some jeeps, at the cost of 1 heavily damaged Leopard, yes. It was a very productive morning. Meanwhile the captured rebel prisoners were send to the airport for air transport them to the U.A.E. Van Rotterdam was very keen on this. If it was not necessary, then try to capture them instead of shooting on site. Yet the radio of the tank state: the waited answer arrived in an encrypted file. Van Rotterdam ordered that a helicopter should pick him up at this location so he can obtain that information and debrief the communication officers. 13:00
As the Orange General smiled while reading what was meant for his eyes only, he gathers his staff. From now on he couldn’t be in the battlefield anymore. He needs to command the entire ECA operations from a central command position. No more fooling around in the field. Too bad, he thinks. For as he likes to be on certain areas, whether to support the troops or be a morale booster. “Gentlemen. As you now are being informed about this news, let us concentrate on Oman, shall we? I want the port of Filim to be taken care of. How is the situation over there?” “The citizens evacuated already themselves sir, it seems that the rebels are trying to hold this position for a little longer. It also caught our attention that they are planning to escape this area by sea. We lack knowledge at this moment when it comes to details: amount of rebels, weapons, equipment etc. They will most likely ship themselves with some resources and/or equipment. Perhaps heading for East Yemen.” “Deploy some infantry with Warhounds and Pandurs. Let the Warhounds siege the position of these rebels. We lack artillery for this skirmish” Van Rotterdam orders. “Also, I want these 2 Panzer battalions follow this path near the Saudi Arabian border. We must try to keep the rebels in Oman. Send air units to cover them and give them the local Intel they require.” “Send word to Commodore Mendoza to long-range bombard these 3 areas in the Ash Sharqiyah governorate. We will force those rebels back to their stronghold in Muscat. Do not let them scatter around. When succeeded, get more ground forces to that region. It shouldn’t be problematic.” David ordered. Several more military movements were discussed and decisions were made. While the communication officers send out word to arrange the battalions into the right positions and areas, The Orange General took some time to think in his office. Making more decisions for the next moves. 14:00
Warhounds and infantry are engaging on the port of Firim. While the ECA infantry get’s closer, the rebels became more desperate. Using Molotov Cocktails and automatic handguns, they try to hold them of as long they could do. But they were no match for the snipers of the ECA. They start firing when some of the FELINS were ambushed at one of the structures. The Warhouds moving in, yet at the cost of 1. An RPG took out the tracks of this vehicle. It was unable to continue and it needs to be recovered or towed away. 15:00
The panzer battalions who were send out to hold the rebels in Oman, not letting them cross the border, managed successfully to reach the governorate of Dhofar. While more tanks are going in the main lands, 2 smaller squadrons keep moving near the border. 16:00
A small air battle between some Eurofighters and rebelling Oman fighter jets happened in the east of the country. 2 Eurofighters were lost in battle. 7 Oman fighter jets were also destroyed. 18:00
Nearly 50 militias were arrested in the west area of Al Wusta. They were caught trying to take several hostages. After a small skirmish, and actually just being overrun by the ECA infantry, they surrendered. In the evening, the ECA forces keep pushing near the border to the south. Meanwhile several battalions are taking more of the main ground while Marksmen and Tigers support them.

16th January 2047 -Governorate Al Wusta: 95% under ECA control -The rumours about the RAFO airbase in Thumrait are true. Rebels and/or bribes pilots are fighting ECA forces in the governorate of Dhofar -Van Rotterdam redeploys additional extra Gepards within this region -1 SCUD missile successfully destroyed 3 Mortar Tracks, unaware of this launch. The hunt for another SCUD Missile Launcher has begun. 17th January 2047 09:00 Local TimeVan Rotterdam walks in the main Intelligence Room. “Gentlemen, situation in Oman. How far are we?” he asks when they noticed him. “Sir, we got around 75% of the country under ECA control. We got another 10% within our sight. We know of several hostile movements in this area in Ash Sharqiyah. They are concentrating to hold this port here, and the route to Muscat.” Van Rotterdam nodded. “These squads here and these 2 battalions. Let them move up more to the north. Perhaps we can cut off their supply route. That would be a good move before we will dismantle their stronghold in Muscat. Let them have it for now… it will fall” “Sir, we got confirmation about the RAFO Airbase in Thumrait. Our forces are suffering under these air assaults. Our Air Force are doing the best they can but this is a major success for the rebels sir.” Van Rotterdam looked surprised. “Say what?” “Yes sir. Since yesterday they are. We already kn…” “Yes yes.. we knew it already. But I am surprised that they are doing such a great job. How on earth did they get that much experience? After all I thought that was less big a deal.” David sighed. “Let’s use several Wotans. We are going to make 2 head forces. Flanking from both sides to the base. The Wotans will be added in these forces. That will teach them. They can take out aircraft way more easier.” “If this base will fall, and become under our control, we can easier send over reinforcements here. Second, the militias will get a run for their money. As a third, we will get this governorate easier and more quicker under our control.” The Orange General orders. “Come on people. We are only dealing with some last footholds of the rebels.” Sipping some coffee, David noticed some Intel about the SCUD Missile. “What’s this?” “Well sir, we believe that the SCUD Missile Launcher is somewhere in or behind the Thumrait Air Base. Unconfirmed Intel gives us that. Together with the possibility that there could be more missiles or even launchers.” “Well in that case..: the 2 forces will approach as follow. 1 from the north. The other from the east. Order a Mechanized Reinforcement group and let them flank even further. Let them drive from the east side down to the south. They will take these buildings and give us the Intel OR even might take out or secure the position where those damn SCUDs are. Let them approach this area in the late-evening. The darkness will be of good use for them.” “Sir, yes sir!” and the orders were being transmitted

Van Rotterdam was annoyed. Walking with a mug of coffee down the hallway he had some early morning bad news. Just something he hates. Bad news on the early morning… drinking some coffee, and watching Mr Jones making several communications in a different communication room, David walks in the other room, where the Corner Stone Operation communications happen. “Status gentlemen?” David requested, drinking coffee out of the blue with yellow stars mug. He throws his hat on some random empty desk. “Come on! I don’t have the entire day time waiting on you.. Status!?” as some of the officers start yapping through each other. “1 at a time… smartasses…” “Sir we are heading to victory. We got roughly 95% of Oman under control. Still struggling at Thumrait, and the Dhofar governorate, and at the other side we still got that Muscat situation.” “God damn it. What’s the holdup in Thumrait?” David replied. “Well sir. Our forces are stagnating thanks to some air attacks from the rebels. The reinforcements with the Wotans have arrived, and they pay off, but now they are using again SCUD’s when we are in their range” was the answer. “So what about the Mechanized Infantry Battalion?” David asks. “Sir, they are advancing to the SCUD Launchers site. Last report from them are: 1-2 hours and they are close enough to the SCUDs to have a vision. Once the SCUD’s are disabled, the RAFO Airbase will be overwhelmed by our forces. And Dhofar will be ours within 2 days, sir” “Then make haste. I want those SCUDs captured. We need to know how those weapons got there in the first place. Now.. what’s this Muscat Area shenanigans?” The Orange General points to the map at basically the last stronghold of these militias. “Sir, they transformed it into some kind of a urban stronghold. Guarded by tanks, Scuds, and perhaps also more unknown units. Intel will be ready in this afternoon. Scouts are nearing the site as we speak. Earlier a Radar Copter was shot down, so we are forced to obtain by ground units our Intel.” Another officer replied, Van Rotterdam cursed. “I have enough of all this shit. Get that Intel ASAP. Move more forces to this area here, and from the east as well. Inform Commodore Mendoza. If needed, we are going to deploy cruise missiles in this sector!” “Yes Sir!” and the officers start working on the communications. 12:00 Thumrait
The Mechanized Infantry forces were near the SCUD Launcher site. Closely watching the site with their binoculars they spotted 5 Launchers, and several trucks with replenishment missiles on them. “Holy shit. That’s nearly a mobile SCUD Storm!” One of the members noticed. “Send the Intel. We will move out. Snipers, garrison that structure, and keep an eye on those soldiers. Soldiers, scatter around, we need to ambush them before they can react!” 12:15
Forces are moving in and killing several guarding enemy rebels. Rockets flying from one side to another. Several vehicles got damaged, if not destroyed. The rebels who survived were captured. The SCUDs were captured and secured. Investigations could begin. 13:00
The 2 head forces, after hearing the good news, moved in. after an intense battle, the RAFO Airbase was captured. 19:00
Multiple ECA battalions are moving into Dhofar, controlling more and more terrain. Meanwhile, multiple other forces are also heading to Muscat. Preparing what could be, the last stand of the militias.
