As Dmitry Molchanov walked in front of the United Nations' Headquarters Building, he was feeling anxious. He knew what Voronov's anti-western sentiments had done to Russia's relations with other countries, but he had called for a summit in the United Nations to deal with the problem on his own terms, not letting others do it for him. However, he was extremely uncomfortable with the paparazi around the building, all taking pictures of him and his men, of whom guarded him with their lives. He didn't like cameras, let alone being treated as either a celebrity or important man of power. He found himself more humble than that. He found himself to just be a normal man, just like everyone else. He had a personal escort of highly-trained Russian guards, each armed with an AKS-74 for self-defense. Eventually, the newly appointed president was stopped by a group of security guards. "Mr. Molchanov, I don't believe that your personal escort will be allowed their weapons." Although the soldiers hesitated, they handed their weapons to the security and immediately stood by the president's side, who nodded in thanks before entering the UN summit room. Apparently, they were the first to arrive, as all of the other seats stood empty. Minutes passed, and the president had gotten bored to the point of fidgeting with the various objects around the building, including pens, his microphone, and even his personal laptop. However, people began trickling after approximately 45 minutes, with President Miller of the United States being one of the most awaited arrivals for the esteemed president of Russia. After everyone had taken their seats, they turned their heads to the Russian president. "Hi, hello, greetings. Look, I'm not really one to be formal at the moment. I would prefer to bury the hatchet with the United States and the incident in Cyprus, which has spiraled out of control into a situation similar to the Cuban Missile Crisis of the 1960s. I, in the interests of the Russian Federation and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, would personally not like to see such a pointless and imbecilic conflict spiral out of control into the 'Final World War' that our fathers and our fathers' fathers grew up to fear. Mr. Miller, I look to you for help in deciding how this conflict shall end. Shall it end in this room? Or will it end in the great flashes erupting throughout the eastern and western hemispheres of the Earth?"

Miller was here as a formality,he felt unintereted for the things going on for now.Focusing on his more domestic projects such as two cities he was constructing behind the curtains.Soon to reveal the towering high architecture of the soon to be holy land. Coming inside he took out a cigar and put his blue pancho to the side and looking for his lighter. Stopping to see his disapproal and somewhat dissapointment of the lack of Andreys pressence. He was illinformed on where he went but if this fresh fool on his place then maybe he could do more good to his intressts then the last russian.Young skinny and not that Impressive on first glance.John had found the desire to see Andrey behind bars to be more overwhelming then he thought, putting away his cigar. As much of a blabering russian he was this whole ordeal left a bad taste in his mouth. With him getting seated and abit of scotch secredtly snuck under his sleeve pouring to his water glass.Eyes going left and right wondering if he'll get caught again. The aches in his joints were on its peak as rainy season was coming ahead. Looking at the other leaders then his pocket watch,he was late."good" he thought as he didnt want to be here anyway.
"Indeed the cuba had us in the brink of extinction back in the day, now Im in the shoes as Kennedy was nearly a century ago with the same choise.Let me be clear, I love peace as much as any man but I will not be spending everything to please others. There could be an agreement of course, but I have to ask for comprimises.Something your predessor lacked.I'll have to request a break before our peace talks begin, Commander Markus will relay me the latest situation on this..."Missunderstanding" you could say.We all love our youth so its best we not see them to be ash and cinder. What do you propose? Im listening...Mr- Didnt catch your name"

Dmitry chuckled at the US President's speech. Miller seemed more reasonable than Andrey's propaganda had made him out to be. He knew that Andrey's propaganda was more-or-less glorifying the Russian Federation, but he had to admit that it was affective. "Dmitry. Dmitry Molchanov is my name. And may I say that it is a pleasure to meet a fellow diplomat instead of the warmonger that Andrey made you out to be." "Now, as for what I propose, most of the Cypriot population supports the Russian Federation and the CSTO's efforts to push you out. Therefore, it is safe to assume that Cyprus was planning to join the CSTO, and with the collapse of the MEC very close now, we can assume that this will happen very soon. Now, I never truly paid any attention to the situation, as I was dealing with internal affairs while I was Vice-President. However, from what I've read up, the incident was caused by the NAU supposedly finding evidence of the Global Liberation Army's activity being present on Cypriot soil. So, this is what I propose: the Russian Federation and the North American Union work together to find more evidence or even perpetrators of GLA activity in the region, and if there are GLA dissidents, then we work together to pull the weed from the Cypriot garden. After that, the North American Union will leave Cypriot territory and pull out their military forces of the Medeterrainian Sea. The Russian Federation will also do the same, as well as the forces of the Greek Navy."

Aaron grinned, and replied, finally, "I'm afraid that wouldn't be acceptable, from what Markus has shown me, the situation in Russian-held Cyprus is grim at best, Men being press-ganged into the forces, food being taken from families, weapons hidden in housing buildings." He paused, taking a breath, "This is why he has so far elected to not attempt any major offensives, and I can't in good conscience order him to leave Cyprus without first making sure that everything's all right."
(OOC: Hey, you posted the general assembly, Aaron would naturally be in there).

Dmitry was somewhat confused at the statement, but shrugged. "If you want to check Russian-controlled Cyprus to help deal with the situation, then so be it. I'm a man of my word when I say I would rather this conflict end as soon as possible, rather than continue it on because someone said 'no.' The Russian Federation would be willing to assist in rebuilding efforts as well, as I would prefer to also rid the world of the memory of Mr. Voronov's extremely aggressive nature.

"I urge you to establish alternate sources of information in cyprus beyond those that Surovov deigns to report." Aaron Replied, "We all know that General Sukhoi was personally apointed by Voronov, from what our reports have shown, he's getting more aggressive, desperate even."

Now this statement had Dmitry very interested. How did the Americans know of any such thing? Instead of thinking more on it, however, he wanted to investigate further. "Mr. Williams, I am very intrigued by what you are saying. General Sukhoi is gone. He disapeared with President Voronov over a week ago. What do you mean by General Sukhoi becoming more desperate? If someone who has been reported missing is still giving orders, I would like to know where he is and why he's becoming 'more desperate.' I was never particularly involved with Cyprus, so please enlighten me."

Aaron grinned, "Well, I'm no analyst, but, and I quote from the one I have interpreting intel for me, "General Sukhoi is clearly desperate, his response to his own supply lines being shelled is to launch an all-out attack on a fortified location without artillery support, air support, or any armor heavier than a Kodiak. Realistically, this had a one-in-a-million at best odds of success, and he knows it. The only reasons he would do something like this is if to him he had nothing to lose." The report goes on to guess as to why that would be the case, but so far, this seems pretty accurate to the situation at hand.".

(OOC: keep in mind Drew has left, so his character has essentially disappeared as of the latest event posted by me, as has Nikola Pasic and Sergei Varennikov.) As karp said, the Sukhoi references need to be removed as he no longer is active in the RP. You can however use the reference of his Followers/Troops going out of conrol.

This information was more than surprising to Dmitry. It was shocking, at how corrupt the Russian government could get. It had lied to him more than once, yes, but to deliberately only tell him the good things about an operation, rather than the entire thing, was treason in his mind. He then heard one of his guards speak to him in Russian about the current affairs of the operation in Cyprus. "Президент Молчанов. У нас есть обновленная информация о положении в отношении Кипра. [President Molchanov. We have an update on the situation regarding Cyprus.]" "Тогда говорите! Если мы не решим это в ближайшее время, мы могли бы быть, глядя на третьей мировой войны! [Then speak! If we don't solve this soon, we could be looking at World War III!]" The soldier then promptly left, only returning minutes later with a tablet for the President. Molchanov wiped sweat from his brow as he looked see the report. It was a small excerpt from a further report that he would have to read when he returned to Moscow after the meeting. "Gentlemen. Alongside the information that I have received from my new Chief-of-Military Staff, General-Armii Alexei Ouromov, the Russian Federation can confirm that the threat in Cyprus is not from us, the forces of two opposing superpowers on indifferent soil, but from the forces of the previous Chief-of-Military-Staff and one of Andrey Voronov's most active generals, former General Suvorov Sukhoi, who was reported MIA over a week ago. I suggest a joint operation against Suvorov's renegade forces and the incapacitation of civilian forces in service to his renegade forces, now led by Colonel-General Dukhovin. Our goal is not to fight each other, but to end the fighting in Cyprus as quickly as possible. Finishing this debacle can wait until the situation is neutralized, but for now, our interests align with taking out the current leader of the renegade Russian Spetsnaz, VDV, and conscripted forces in the area. Do you wish to assist or are we going to end up continuing the war against each other, as well as renegade Russian forces?" (OOC: I tried to make sure that my references to the "MIA" Suvorov Sukhoi were well-known.)

Miller returned from his urgent meeting, something had gone amiss. The latest scandal from the Mexican high command had the loyalty of the poltiicans and commanders he knew in questionable positions. "Thank you Aaoron but let the men that have more hair on their head, then their head do the talking. As Im updated on the issue It seems that Andreys generals has defected and taken controll with the leadership gone underground somewhere. To an effective leadership who now wishes to root out theese defectors, let my message me clear.
We will open some channels of communication for, perhaps joint airstrikes but Im not trusting you for this could all be a ruse. There are still things that moscow denies about the sudden attack and assassination of the cypriot president. For all I know you could be playing the whole darn world like a fiddle! I will see to it that a field agent I could trust will asses the situation there, till then.Nothing more then naval manuvers to isolate this island should be considerd if we wish to remain on "speaking" terms mr.president. That being said, I would need an update on the positon of the C.E.F. positioned in the south of the island.Hopefully they are comftable being entrenched.

Dmitry cocked an eyebrow at the proposition of "joint airstrikes." In the long run, it would be catastrophic for public relations, but getting rid of the rogue Russian elements was a must. "Mr. Miller, let me be completely honest here when I say that the assassination of the Cypriot President was the work of madmen, not politicians. Secondly, I would never play the world like a fiddle unless it benefited me, and I see no reason as to why fooling the world and leading the US into a trap would help the Russian Federation solve its problems. Thirdly, I think that we have caused enough damage to the Cypriot infrastructure with naval artillery. I don't believe that a joint airstrike would assist either of us. Rather, I think a joint ground-assault against the defectors would be much easier for both the Cypriots and us. Finally, the Canadian Expedition Forces present there will eventually be driven out by the defectors. Our time for fighting against this threat to the both of us is now. I understand that Russia is not trusted after Andrey's presidency, but I can assure you that there is nothing that I wish to hide nothing between Russia and its western counterparts." Dmitry then turned to the European delegate: Supreme Commander Jurgen Adler. "And speaking of hiding anything from our western counterparts, Mr. Adler. I have to discuss with you about the affairs regarding the Solaris satellites above Siberian territory. I would like to find a way to cooperatively solve this problem as well. However, keeping this weapon above Siberian territory makes our people very anxious, and I represent them. Therefore, I am just as anxious. What's your solution?"

Post by Jürgen Adler on Nov 6, 2015 20:26:30 GMT
Jürgen Adler had been there at the table, listening to the new Russian President and the United States president peacefully argue. He had known Miller for as long as he had been in office, and never listening to Andrey Varonov's so-called propaganda to make Mr. Miller look like a warmongering, sewage spewing politician, as he had known him to be quite good at making deals to benefit both parties as best as he could. In fact, while listening, he opened his Thermos and began to drink Jägermeister, filling the room with sweet smelling-spices of licorice, anise, poppy seeds, saffron, ginger, juniper berries, ginseng, and citrus. When the Russian President called him out about hiding stuff, he nearly coughed and choked on his liqueur before closing it and sitting it down. "Before I speak of anything, Mr...Dimitry, was it?I admit that Europe has Solaris Satellites in space currently that are locked and loaded, ready to fire should I give the order just as Mr. Miller likely has cannons in space to do the exact same thing, that is something I cannot deny any longer. Though like Mr. Miller just now, and the Iron Dutchman before me, I am very reluctant to trust Russian leaders and politicians, as most love to spew forth rather hateful propaganda towards those that they fight against. While rather effective on what its expected to do, it does so rather too well. "For example, the Aegean Reef, I'm sure you've heard of what happened, hmm? Two Tremor Advanced Grand Artillery Systems, one was being built to attempt to hurt the United States. Both either destroyed or too heavily damaged to do a bloody thing. Either Russia under Andrey Varanov had something similar to Global Positioning System Scramblers, or was working with the Global Liberation Army to keep their two systems from being harmed. I know not which. "However, that's beside the point. Please understand that, while I wish to trust and negotiate, due to Andrey Varonov's belligerent, and quite often starrköpfig (bull-headed) attitude before disappearing without a verdammt trace, I'm quite widerwillig into trusting you and your politicians, unless you have a way to convince me otherwise." He explained as calmly as possible. "I will say this, however, if you wish for me to just...shut and take down the Satellites just like that at of the snap of a finger, I'm afraid I cannot do so without Europe losing almost all of its power, and blacking out."

"It's Dmitry Molchanov, Mr. Adler. And as for trusting me, I understand if you do not. But this is not merely about trust. This is about possible weapons of mass destruction hanging over Russian soil. The United States Particle Uplink Network is, although very close to Russian borders, not truly in Russian territory. Mainly, the hateful propaganda comes from political party leaders who would rather see the glory days when Russia was truly superior. Instead, the Russian Federation is destitute because we refused to acknowledge the fact that the Cold War ended long ago. The problem here is a matter of distrust because of past relationships and tempers flaring for a spot of land that means little to nothing in terms of strategic importance and is only there in conflict to fuel the political fires that already rage."
"As for the Global Liberation Army, let me make myself clear when I say this! To all of you!" Dmitry then stood up from his desk and picked up his microphone.
"The GLA is nothing but a cowardly bunch of overly-extremist zealots trying to voice their opinions in overly-aggressive, easily-punishable ways! Russia would never use the likes of them in order to mask positions that we would not want other nations to look at, for they would most likely want repayment in further distrust towards the Russian Federation! Rather, it was a group of specially-designed 'blackout nodes' that are the cause of the situation in the Aegean Reef!" Dmitry then took a seat and a sip of water from a complimentary glass given by the United Nations security staff.
"Now, once again, I'm willing to make cooperative ventures that, while benefiting the Russian Federation and the CSTO, still benefit the European Continental Alliance's desires to keep their Solaris network in tact for only agricultural and energy-based operations, rather than operations in which require the Solaris satellites in military action. The question I'm asking is, what does Europe want or need the satellites above Russian soil for, and if there is a way that further environmental damage can be lessened or completely stopped."
