Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Today is August 8th 2045, and welcome to the 8 oclock news.
INDONESIA OFFICIALLY A MEMBER OF GAPA
Today's top story, the Republic of Indonesia officially joins the Greater Asian People's Alliance. This proves to be a huge leap forward in diplomatic negotiations for China since Xingmin Wu took power six months ago. The Indonesian President signed the papers six hours ago at a meeting in Beijing. In an interview after the signing, the President said:
"I am very glad that the negotiations went so well. With full membership of GAPA, we will be able to contribute more against the terrorist enemy, as well as gain an economic edge in the development of the nation."

Indonesian and Chinese Ministers sign Trade Agreements
The Chinese Chairman was also very happy.
"This represents a huge step in China's progress towards prosperity. We managed to successfully ally ourselves with a major power, which will hugely strengthen our defense and economy. With our guidance and support, we hope to improve the living conditions of the Indonesian people, and make great use of trade between our nations."
This will boost the strength of our both our nations greatly; however reactionnaries and anti-Chinese extremists have openly revolted against this decision. For the past seven days, reactionnaries have taken over several cities and villages in the eastern regions (mainly Papua), demanding the government to end all relations with China. There was a threat of the GLA taking advantage of the chaos in the region and starting an insurrection themselves; but such threats have not yet come to pass. The Indonesian Army, with Chinese support and guidance, managed to crush the rebellion with relatively few casulties. Though the conflict was officially declared to be over today, there is still a lot of instability in the region, so the Indonesian government will be on high alert.
THE MEC ON BRINK OF COLLAPSE
After the deadly Mecca Bombing by the GLA, distrust for the organization began mounting in many of its member states. The Russian Federation and European Continental Alliance has taken advantage of this chaos and distrust and have advanced their sphere of influence into the Middle East. So far, the nations of Syria, Kurdistan, Afghanistan (who all joined the CSTO), Iran (who became neutral), Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (who all formed pacts with the ECA), have left. Turkey has managed to persuade the other members to stay in the MEC; however experts believe it is only a matter of time before the Council is completley dissolved.
Many CPC leaders were dispatched to these countries to make sure the dissolution happens as peacefully as possible. It is believed that they will try and persuade them to ally themselves with China for further protection against GLA attacks. China has proven to the world its willingness to fight the terrorist enemy, while the MEC has proven its weakness against them.
