CHAIRMAN WU VISITS DALIAN SHIPBUILDING HEADQUARTERS AND SHIPYARD TO INSPECT NEW AIRCRAFT CARRIERS
Yesterday, Chairman and Premier Xingmin Wu visited Dalian to inspect the new design prototype for China's new batch of modern Aircraft Carriers, the planned Imperial Class. The first prototype, currently being completed at the Shipyard in Dalian, Hebei, is known as the "Qin". The "Qin" is set to be ready to be commissioned in three weeks' time, while the other seven planned ships have already begun construction.
These new additions to the People's Liberation Army Navy, was a part of a much larger plan to expand and modernize the obsolete Chinese Navy, the brainchild of Chairman Wu back in 2042, during Cheung Liu's administration. Now that Xingmin Wu is in charge, he plans to double down on this plan, and continue investing more and more resources into his navy's expansion. It is now being predicted that the Chinese Navy will surpass that of the United States by 2047.
His plan, also known as the "Wu-Yin Plan for naval supremacy", involves the production of over 700 ships for use in the Defence Department and PLA. The Premier stated back in 2044, that "I will personally make sure that our Navy's logistical capacity has been expanded three-fold. I ordered the production of over 400 transport and supply ships, as well as the fitting of advanced logistical equipment on every capital ship. As an officer of the Global War against the GLA, I know from experience that logistics is one of the most important elements of success in any military operation."
The second most shocking item in the Wu-Yin plan is the addition of eight new and advanced aircraft carriers, one of which, the "Qin", has been inspected by the Chairman himself just yesterday. The "Imperial-Class" Carriers (named after Chinese Imperial Dynasties) will each be able to carry almost 70 MiG fighter-bombers each, as well as up to 5 support helicopters. Xingmin Wu was certainly impressed.
In a press conference shortly after, he stated: "I am very happy with the outcome of the Imperial project. I can see no flaws in this Aircraft Carrier's design and execution, and I believe it will serve our country well."
The Chinese paramount leader hopes that these new toys will be able to propel China onto the world stage, and spread its influence even further.
