** The new leader of China appears in front of a large audience at the National People's Congress**
Good evening, ladies, gentlemen, and friends.
Two days ago, our great leader, chairman and president of the People's Republic of China, Cheung Liu, has passed away. I, Wu Xingmin, was elected by the party to be his successor, while maintaining my position as State Council Premier.
I realise that most of you are still mourning and grieving of our tragic loss, but we must all find the strength and courage to move forwards, as a nation, and as a people.
Though we are moving on from him, we cannot forget him, nor the stories about the heroes of our past. From our patriotic struggle against the imperial Japanese, to the righteous defense of our soil and sovereignty against the GLA, we as Chinese, have proven ourselves over the years as a strong people. And now our ancestors look to us, to build upon their successes, to fix and amend their failures, and to show once again to the world, the true might and courage of China. We must not let their sacrifices be in vain!
*audience applauses*
Tough times and decisions will inevitably be upon us, so we must not waste any more time. China is a great nation, but it is not perfect. For as long as people are needlessly suffering, we must continue to act. We must always help the less fortunate, bring food to the starving, give medicine to the sick, and protect the defenceless. We must all work towards the future prosperity of China.
Though the party may be the leaders of China, we are still merely servants of the people. It is the people who create history. The masses are the real heroes. Our strength comes from the people and masses. We deeply understand that the capability of any individual is limited, but as long as we unite as one, there is no difficulty that we cannot overcome.
I, as paramount leader of the People's Republic of China, promise to guide this great nation and its people in the right direction. I promise to lead our country into prosperity, and to establish China as a lead player in the world. I will also ask our friends from the press, to help create mutual understanding and friendship with other great nations. The world needs to know about our great nation, our culture, and our way of life. In return, we need to be open, and learn more about the rest of the world.
Great times are potentially ahead of us, but we all must work to get there. Wealth and prosperity for China!
Thank you all!
**audiance gives standing ovation as they applause and cheer**
