Name: Hugh Anson Douglas
Age: 36
Birthplace: Darwin Australia
Location: Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona
Base of operation: Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona
General tactics: Aggressive area control with rapid Close Air Support
Commander Douglas was born into a military family stationed on Australian soil in 2007. His father was a Blackhawk medevac pilot, who had met and fell in love with his mother whilst stationed in Cairns a year earlier. Douglas’s mother was also a US military service woman and she was a trained combat medic who worked as one of the drivers in a field hospital. The two had always had a desire to look after and care for people, and this very much rubbed off on their son, so much so that as a child he never wanted to be in the military. He dreamed of being a civilian surgeon, and had plans to come back to Australia when he graduated school to study medicine there.
However, things took a dark turn during the 2025 US withdrawal.
Hugh lost both his mother and father in the conflict. His mother to the brutal GLA bio-weapon attacks in Greece, and his father to the subsequent combat that followed.
Being 18 Hugh was about to start university, but instead deferred his offers for med school and enlisted in the military. He originally applied to be an ambulance driver like his mother, but after the initial tests he was guided towards the area of aviation much like his father.
Throughout his training he showed a very deep level of care and selflessness towards his fellow recruits, even going so far as to ‘take the bullet’ from his drill instructor many times from mistakes made by fellow recruits. This was not un-noticed and Hugh was pushed into a commanding role as an officer.
Throughout his continuing career Hugh showed a very personal and professional attachment to the troops in his command making it a personal quality to never leave a man behind, and to always treat the wounded, regardless of side.
However, his trial by fire came when the USA re-entered combat operations in Africa and Hugh had been noted to have struggled to maintain his calm and rational whilst in combat with the GLA, very likely due to the impact they had had on his family.
This held High back from reaching the rank of General, and instead after ‘The Zone’ was established Hugh was placed in command of the 356th Fighter Wing, the 15th Combat Drone Wing, the 614th and 616th Medivac, and Rescue Wings, and the 102nd Electronic Combat Group. Hugh worked with the groups, and eventually became a highly destingished commander at the art of Close Air Support, and Area Control.
Hugh’s latest test was after the battle of Kurmuk, where he was placed incharge of medivac operations to the wounded US troops. Knowing that any further fighting would be pointless, Hugh organised a meeting with Russian General and not only organised a 15 minute sease fire where he managed to collect all the American Wounded, but he even organised an extra squadren of medics to assist in as many of the Chinese Wounded as he could manage in the time frame. This action alone saved American and Chinese relations after the battle and eased many of the harsh tensions that resulted from the humiliationg failure. After seeing Hugh’s performance US MAJCOM was considering offering him the role of General of the newly formed 12th Expeditionary Support Force, but delayed their verdict after recent tensions between Russia and the ECA have increased.
An efficient and caring man, Hugh Douglas is very much favored and respected by the men under his command. His respect for their actions and care for their lives has made his command style very erratic and fast, focusing on controlling vital areas and luring enemy combatants into devastating traps brought on by his favorite planes, his A-10’s. He also very much favors quick jabs into enemy territory with a large focus on airborne mobility. However, Hugh’s most controversial actions are often his most human. He will always try to take prisoners rather thank kill his opponents, and will often back away from many enemy groups if he thinks his attacks will be to unfair and deadly, something that strained him a lot during the African campaign.
