(OOC: I just picturing this TV announcement with everything at this particular moment of writing it, except the Neutral States debacle, for as some of us don’t have the decency to reply on the PM(s) about it)
[some kind of a fancy intro]
The camera moves from some screens to the news anchor. “Good day to all. This is the News with tonight’s main topic: GLA Chemical Arsenal, Cyprus and the Middle-East, with a special guest: General Van Rotterdam.”
[some jingle and scene’s after each other]
“Hello everyone. You are watching to the News. I am Otto Flick. In today’s topic: Death and disaster at Cyprus: The war continues between the 2 giants; As the Chinese were assaulting and gaining ground on the GLA forces, the GLA unleashed one of their deathliest chemical bombs. And the Middle-East, what is happening there?”
The camera moves from the anchor news reporter to an overall point of view. Sitting at his right side, is general Van Rotterdam. At the other hand, a giant TV screen, yet not in display. Otto Flick checks up in another camera, with Van Rotterdam in another.
“Joining us today is the Orange General. We salute you,” Otto smiled, and Van Rotterdam nodded. “It’s my pleasure,” Van Rotterdam replies.
“Okay, so first off all: the GLA. What’s your first impression of them?” Otto asks the ECA General. “Well we are known with their methods of forcing their will upon people, but this chemical attack is just… insane. Countless have died. Allies, enemies, civilians…. Innocents…” Van Rotterdam replied, as his eyes were hard to ground.
Otto Flick takes over: “Yes we have seen the footages, mostly from the Chinese I believe?” and Van Rotterdam replies: “Yes, although there are some small GLA footage also. I believe even a famous reporter has died in the attack, like also a local PLA commander, who appears quite famous”
“Yes our thoughts are with them…” Otto Flick replied, and continues: “on other things: Cyprus. General, what is going on there?” Van Rotterdam sighed. “Well appearently they are still fighting, .. oh yes, the NAU and the Russians,” he smiled at some question-faced-Flick. “I believe the Russians and the NAU are both taking that war in a higher Tier Level. Using heavier weapons at this point,” he explains.
The camera flashes between full screen images of the war, and the news studio.
“Is there any ECA on Cyprus?” Flick asked. “No, there is none. I doubt even if we have an (active) Embassy on it” Van Rotterdam answers. “Is the ECA going to do anything about the Cyprus war?” the news anchor asked. “No. Not at this point. We lack intel. We basically need to feed us on the NAU and the Russian news bulletins for 80%, maybe 90%. We gain some small footage by our own navy and scouting forces from the training operations. Also from the forces guarding the ECA water territories. But we have no eyes on land, or any kind of reliable Intel. We only know basically the NAU, Russian and even the Greek are somewhere on and arround that island.”
Some pictures are shown on the background on the large TV screen when the camera zooms out.
“Besides the lack of Intel, we will not interfere just yet on that war, even IF we are interested or forced to do. Basically, we believe interfering with that war, will unleash even a greater war then just about a small island. Don’t get me wrong. Of course we care. We are currently talking about sending aid for the local civilians. For as we believe is the right thing to do. They suffer the most, with those 2 giants clashing each other.”
“Is there any ECA forces in the area perhaps?” Otto asks. “No. We do not own or claiming any of the waters over there. Cyprus is way too far away, even too try it, with a silly excuse for being there. IF we send aid, we will most likely do it by air, or by cargo ship."
“Thank you general, as for we must tune out for some commercials. We will be back in 5 minutes” Otto Flick talks straight in the camera.
