Jürgen sighed before downing a gallon of water earlier. This was something he needed to do.
He gathered his things and stood up to the podium. He could just feel the daggers in their eyes. They weren't happy with what he did to the Orange General. But, he nutted up and tested the microphone before speaking.
"Guten morgen meine brüder, schwestern in armen, geist, und blut (Good morning my brothers, sisters in arms, spirit and blood). I come before you not as a Supreme Commander, but as a soldier of the battlefield, like many of our brothers on the field now. I come before you now to the fact that, while we already know this, Warlord Omar al Ghazi is a threat the Free World. I personally believed that any man could be changed with a few acts of kindness.
"I was wrong. So, so wrong after seeing the two dirty bombs that he detonated in the Holy See and the Mecca on the two holiest days of the year in both Catholicism and Islam. I've seen now the effect of what Omar al Ghazi has on us, and what kind of grip he has with his Fear Toxin weapon, and I've already felt the effects of it personally." He stated, gesturing to his eyepatch.
"The time for weeping for our fallen brethren is over, the time for fighting against our own is done. We must move forward with the march of time. The United States President Steven Freephoenix has proven himself a dangerous man of both zeal and propaganda to the Russian Federation, and I have proven myself to have made flippant, perhaps horrible mistakes. I will openly admit to that, unlike what most politicians would say.
"The time to weep, the time to pray, the time lament, and the time to blame is over. We have grown complacent long enough. It is time we started taking action into our own hands, Unlike President Miller whom I've found to have grown senile in his twilight, and clouded in judgement, I will not stand by and let terrorists strike fear into the hearts of my fellow brethren to cow us into submission. I will not stand idly as I watch my fellow soldier falls to another bullet or breathes in toxic gasses, tearing apart his fellow man to rid himself of his hallucinations. When the time comes when someone asks me 'What did I do when the world descended into war', I hope to turn to him and say 'I defied expectations when those around me submitted.'
"That is why I now stand before you, not as the Supreme Commander of Europe, but as a soldier, a citizen, asking you to join me in the war on terror. I myself cannot force you to do anything you do not wish to do. But I ask you now, each and every able-bodied man and woman please, join the European Continental Army, prove yourselves worthy of your family name!"
