The Thunderbird is a (Currently) one-of-a-kind plane, acting as a dual-purpose bomber and transport with a modular cargo/bomb bay re configurable to either use.
For the most part, it acts as a transport, shuttling large groups of units intercontinental safely and effectively, but, if the need arises, it can be reconfigured into it'sbattle station bomber configuration.
In this form, the Thunderbird is effectively a "Boss Battle".
When the Thunderbird arrives, it isn't subtle. And it arrives on the other end of the system Anyone with a functioning radar should be able to see the massive plane long before it can unleash it's superlaser ruinous payload upon the enemy.
Stopping it however, is not so easy, it's heavy armor and PDL systems make it all but immune to most forms of attack, however, a clever andforce preceptive pilot, or a cunning intelligence agency will be able to discover the chink in it's armor.........the air intakes. At the cost of the lives of around 50 bothan spies.
The Thunderbird's dual air intakes, large flat slits through which air is sucked in and propelled by it's magnojets out the rear end, can be destroyed, although they are ruggedized and thanks to their magnetic nature, lack the fragile moving parts of a traditional jet. To deal fatal damage to such a device, you'd need to detonate a air-to-air or surface-to-air missile inside it. Were one of them be destroyed, well, guess.
The Air intakes are wide and short, roughly two meters in width, the length of your average womp rat.
Use the force Luke.
(NOTE: I will only be pulling the "Lolthunderbirdbomming" card if things esclalate that far and honestly, we could use a boss fight. For the most part, expect it to just sit back and haul other people)
