ECA NEWS FLASH
This is Otto Flick, with today’s news…
[some kind of a fancy intro]
The camera moves from some screens to the news anchor. “Good day to all. This is the News with tonight’s main topic: New allies in the Middle East for the ECA and the Terrorist Strike in Iran.”
[some jingle and scene’s after each other]
“Hello everyone. You are watching to the News. I am Otto Flick. In today’s topic: The ECA has successfully gain 3 close allies in the Middle East, and the problems in Iran. For as there is a terrorist attack!”
The camera moves a little to capture the face of Otto Flick in the right angle, with on his left a small image of the current news subject. “As for today, the ECA is welcoming the countries of Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in the semi-membership of the ECA. With tough decisions and other meetings, the delegations of the ECA and the Arabian countries have come to agreements. These meetings were under the direct order of Van Rotterdam Corp. Talking about that, the Orange General has just set foot on the lands of Qatar, as his plane just landed in Doha.”
Some images was shown about the landing and the welcoming party for the ECA personal. “We are unable to contact the general, as for he has just landed, but a spokesmen of him quoted: ‘This is a good day for the people of these Arab countries and for the European Continental Alliance. It was highly recommended that we will working more together in the future’. Furthermore the European stock exchange reacted more than pleased to this. As they see this as a positive economic boost”
The camera moves again a little, picturing Otto Flick from another angle. “Later more about this matter. In the next topic: terrorist attack in Iran. Word has been that there is a terrorist attack ongoing in Iran. Dennis is our reporter in Teheran, at the ECA Embassy. Dennis..?”
The image of the news studio faded and anther reporter popped up on the screen. “Hello Otto, yes there is a terrorist attack at the presidential palace in Teheran. Reports have been saying there is some kind of terrorist group active, with some GLA lookalike style of appearing. This is a tragic day, as for the people of Teheran were preparing of some ceremony about the liberation of these lands back in the days Dr. Thrax was active.”
Dennis moved a little and continues his story. “As for the ceremony, it was some kind of a national ‘thank you’ to the American hero, colonel Burton and 6 unknown snipers. As for they are the first frontline against the former GLA doctor. Rather than continue preparing for the ceremony, the Iranian President is missing.”
Otto Flick popped quickly back on screen. “Dennis. You are telling that the president is missing? What happened?” and Dennis replied: “Apparently he is being held hostage in his presidential palace, Otto. The ceremony has been post phoned till this matter will be solved.” Then Otto replied: “Okay, but what about Burton? Where is he?” and Dennis came back on the screen. “Official word has not been told about that, but the rumours are that he is called for a last minute mission.”
“Furthermore I can tell you that the terrorists are demanding that the foreigners should leave these lands. Otherwise they will harm the Iranian President.” “Dennis, can you say anything more about this hostage situation?” “No Otto I am sorry. This is just what we know for this moment.”
And the studio image appeared back. Otto Flick takes word again: “This just came in. apparently the USA/NAU organisation, and the People’s Republic of China will set up a rescue mission. The Russian Federation first was interested, but they stepped down for this matter.”
Otto Flick announced the weather at this point. 2 minutes of news broadcast was spent on the weather situations in Europe. After that:
“This just came in. As Van Rotterdam took news about the situation in Teheran he announced the ECA will set up a rescue mission of its own. We are switching over to Qatar.” The news studio image once more faded out to some official room in an unknown building in Qatar. Some Europeans and the Orange General stood with some of the VIPs from Qatar itself. The video quality was a little lower then normally.
The images clearly shown as people joined the conversations and hand shakings, but when the news came in, many of them looking seriously and shocked. Words of ‘terrorist attack’ and ‘GLA?’ reached the microphone of the amateur camera crew. They went closer as were the local Qatar leaders and Van Rotterdam was talking to each other. “… yes and we will try also to rescue the Iranian President. We need to deal with these kind of situations….”
Otto Flick was shown once more. “It appears that the ECA will help with this terrorist attack. The ECA will tune in with the NAU and the PRC to see what they can do about this situation. Let’s hope for a good ending… and this was it people. Next time, more news.”
