The Liquidators
"We are the liberators of the GLA. We are the ones who must make the sacrifices. We are the Liquidators, Omar's servants and eternal protectors for life and death eternal."
- Abd Al-Rashid, the commander of the Central African Liquidation Cells
Q: Who are the Liquidators?
A: The Liquidators are a highly-trained, privatized military force created by the enigmatic Omar Al Ghazi. They are a true military force, unlike most GLA militia soldiers that are sent to die for the "Cause," and have markedly better equipment and training than most soldiers on the Earth as a result. The Liquidators revere and obey Omar as an almost godly presence, and whether this is the result of secret brainwashing techniques employed by Omar on kidnapped mercenaries, or they're just that fanatically devout to him and his desires is up to interpretation. The fact that they are from all walks of life, including professionally-trained Gurkhas, former Spetsnaz, and even Chinese Secret Police, is enough to make the world cringe that there are people belonging to other countries that serve the GLA warlord; according to many GLA warlords, there are hidden Liquidation terror cells across the globe, and although many have tried to find them, none have been found so far.
Q: What would the Liquidators be like ingame?
A: The Liquidators are their own sub-faction belonging to Omar al Ghazi. In essence, they're their own cell of the GLA, having access to the best-quality equipment bought from the Black Market or salvaged from previous warzones, such as in the Middle-East or Europe. Their soldiers are mainly infantry-based, but they are tougher than other factions' infantry, being about as tough to kill as Shock Troopers, but also being more expensive. Their vehicular capabilities are lackluster, but what their lack of many vehicles is made up for is the fact that their vehicles have markedly tougher armor, higher damage (their basic tanks would be about as damaging as a Marauder Tank), and better livability.
Q: How do they fit into the RP?
A: The Liquidators are a special faction, only commanded by Omar. Although other factions can request "Liquidator Reinforcements," the true Liquidator Cell is only available to Omar. He can request the activation of a Liquidation Cell anywhere at any time, but only once per two battles. This is similar to the Fear Toxin Bomb GP, but this is a fixed time limit, rather than one subject to discussion based on the damage done. However, his main forces typically consist of Liquidator Chemical Warriors in his basic armies. But, in GLA territories, Omar can request the activation of a Liquidation Cell at any time, without any time limit, making an attack in GLA territory extremely difficult.
Q: What are their unique tactics & units?
A: The Liquidators that you see on the battlefield typically are the Liquidator Chemical Warriors, a hardy form of shock trooper not dissimilar to the Shock Troopers of the canon RotRverse. However, their infantry include the likes of Liquidator Initiates (armed with an AK-74 and the standard thermite grenades for anti-vehicular duty), Cobra Liquidators (armed with a Dragunov DMR [Designated Marksman Rifle] and an anthrax sprayer), and Fox Liquidators (armed with a machete, small RDG-5 fragmentation grenades, and an Uzi pistol). Their tactics are very erratic and change on a dime in battle or for each situation. Their heavier armor and arms makes them formidable "steamrollers" (not too dissimilar from Russia), but they can revert back to a heavy defensive strategy (like Europe) or to the classic GLA guerrilla warfare tactics not too dissimilar from traditional rebels or terrorists. Their training also makes them suited to most environments. They will also use fear tactics to try and scare their enemies off, either by guerrilla warfare or by the use of fear toxin filled grenades.
As stated, the Liquidation Cells have sleeper cells (discussed openly by Warlords) all over the world, ready to take on the likes of US Delta Operators, Russian Spetsnaz, and European Spec Ops. However, only few can be given the "Liquidation Order" at any given time, in order to keep other cells from being found. Finding them is [comparatively] easy, but catching them, let alone keeping them alive, is an extremely difficult feat, as the Liquidators have unique suicide capsules that kill each in a unique way, ranging from classical cyanide capsules hidden in false teeth to capsules of ammonia meant to disintegrate lung tissue very quickly once breathed in.
Q: Are other factions capable of asking for the use of a Liquidation Cell?
A: Yes, but within good reason. Omar does not trust anyone, not even his own Liquidators. You must earn his trust or pay him back in return for the use of a Liquidation Cell in order to do the dirty work you don't want your faction doing. Payment can be in weapons, materials, etc. However, it is all decided in the Faction Communications Board, where a faction leader will communicate with Omar to ask for the assistance of a Liquidation Cell.
At the moment, I'm too lazy to do a unit-list. If someone could help me make one, then I'll post a unit list, including armor, infantry, and aircraft(?)
