"Good morning, and welcome back to FFN: the Russian Federation's number one international news network. As politics outside of the Kremlin begin to start boiling, with both anti-Tzar and anti-communist sentiments on both sides of the two most popular parties beside the ruling party of Novorossiya, acting President Dmitry Molchanov came out to speak earlier today on his current Presidency and what he plans for the upcoming election this April." The camera view then switches to the Novorossiya rally outside of the Kremlin in the Red Square, where currently-acting President Molchanov is stood to meet with supporters and opposition alike.
"My fellow citizens. For over the past decade, I have helped to rebuild the Russian Federation with both friends and allies. Prime Minister Voronov and Army General Ourumov are among this group that has helped us revitalize the Russian Federation and retake it from the Oligarchs, who so viciously retook their power in the 2020s. My opponents and I have similar goals: the rejuvenation of the Russian Federation's power, but let me ask you. Are we not already happy with how things are being run? Since the Global War on Terror, Russia has seen a rise in the value of the ruble, in quality of life, and in the brutal honesty needed to keep the oligarchs out of power. Russia has become, for the first time since the Putin administration, generally satisfied with its place in the world." A loud appluse was heard from Dmitry's opening statements, with several loud minorities in the crowd booing and hissing at the President, hoping for his downfall at either the hands of the Tzar or by his running mate, Voronov.
"Yes, Russia has become very prosperous through our hands, both mine and Voronov's, but the truth of the matter is that you do not see it as such," he said, resulting in some confused murmurs among the crowd, "The truth is that you believe my policies soft and weak in the face of conflict. In the face of the transgressions made by Anglo-European Defense Pact-backing countries, such as Poland, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, you have seen my foreign policy as inherently frightened of the enemy. I am not frightened of the enemy and war, my friends. Rather, I am frightened for the future of the Russian Federation if we are to enter conflict with our neighbors. Supreme Commander Stanford and his private military thugs, yes, are a significant threat to the safety and stability of not only Russia, but Russia's neighbors as well. However, despite their transgressions, I would prefer that we retain our peace. Countries in the West paint Russia as the enemy, I am doing everything I can bar a complete disintegration of the peace and prosperity that Russia has, for so long, fought for. I will not go to war because of the possibility of conflict spreading out of control! I will not fight, because I know that the West can be reasoned with and dealt with!" This time, the vocal minorities started speaking out louder than the cheering of his supporters. Molchanov did not expect the people to be happy of his decisions, but they seemed to pride their own skins far more than the safety and security of the Federation at large.
"I do not expect your support in my endeavors for a more peaceful Russia, not with the past decade's many grievances to our nation. I do not expect to win the Presidential nomination this year, with my opponents appealing to your nostalgia for a greater Russia than what we have provided. What I do expect, however, is that you make the right choice in choosing this year's President. Those who continue to support me, my contributions to Novorossiya, and the continuation of my policies of purging corrupt influences from Russia's government, dealing with issues of international importance in a far more diplomatic manner than, and bringing funding back to infrastructure, education, and quality of life, I appreciate all of you. For those of you who do not support me or my improving contributions to the improvement of our quality of life, I appreciate you as well. I hold no grudges or hatreds against any of my fellow countrymen, because I know that, in the end, you will all make the right decision, whether it is putting Romanov back on top, returning to leftist values as proposed by Voronov, or longing for the nostalgia of first and second decades of the millennium. In the end, we are all wanting to see our visions of a perfect country come to light. If none of the others appeal to you, then reelect me for the office. I not only have the experience, but I will ensure that I do what is in the continuing interests of the Russian Federation. No smoke and mirrors, no lies, no propaganda. We are a far better Russia than what could potentially ruin us. Rather than voting for me based on my policies, vote for me based on what you already know of what I have done; it is better to be safe, than to be sorry, comrades" Dmitry finished. Oddly enough, the applause this time drowned any of the opposition in the rally left. Molchanov then walked off the stage, smiling to supporters and opposition alike as they cheered and smiled back.
The view then switched back to the studio, where the host of FFN was chuckling to himself.
"I don't know about you, but I personally would vote for Molchanov again only after I see what the other candidates had to offer. Voronov's a good man, but communism is a flawed system, and a syndicalist-run government would only become oppressive in the end, and that's only Voronov. I shutter to believe what a potential Tzar would do with the powers of the President."
"Nonsense. Voronov's policies, as well as the newcomer Romanov's appeal to the Russian people far more than a 'better safe than sorry' approach. I would vote for either one in a heartbeat to ensure that we do at least have some form of foreign policy, rather than the mess that is the shared alliance of South and North America."
"We can talk more about this after the broadcast is over. Up next is a segment on the conflicts on the Russo-Polish border increasing in the upcoming months of the election. What does this spell for Russo-Polish relations, and will a Third World War be on the rise? Many military experts believe so. Come back in a little bit for the full story and the weather for today."
