While the Russian government would normally not interfere with the television broadcasts of the entire country, President Molchanov believed that it was time to direct Russia's might towards a war effort against the GLA. At 1:15 in the afternoon, all of the television sets on all channels — cable or satellite — were automatically switched to a signal emanating from the President's office. Dmitry stood in front of several cameras, his expression somber and his attitude even more so.
"YA sobirayus' propustit' formal'nosti. YA ne dumayu, chto oni neobkhodimy dlya etogo, [I'm going to skip the formalities. I don't think they are necessary for this.]" Dmitry stated to the camera. He then sighed and cleared his throat as he remembered what he had to say. "Nasha strana byla zakhvachena beschislennoye kolichestvo raz, tak kak ona byla sformirovana. Vse eti invazii ne udalos', i my vyshli sil'neye, chem ran'she. Na etot raz, odnako, my ne budem zhdat' vtorzheniya. My budem vmeshivat'sya, [Our country has been invaded countless times since it was formed. All these invasions failed, and we came out stronger than before. This time, however, we will not wait for the invasion. We will intervene.]" Dmitry's expression became dark as soon as he said this. He looked to the glass of water he had set next to him and took a sip from it.
"My ne pozvolim terroristam, Global'noy armii osvobozhdeniya, chtoby nanesti pervyy udar. My pervyy i posledniy khit, i my preodoleyem ugrozu potreblyaya umy mnogikh stran vo vsem otnimayushchikh terrora. Moi soboleznovaniya narodu Kitayskoy Narodnoy Respubliki, kotoryye postradali bol'she, chem kto-libo drugoy ugrozy etikh monstrov, [We will not allow terrorists, the Global Liberation Army, to strike first. We are the first and last to hit, and we will overcome the threat of consuming the minds of many countries in all-consuming terror. My condolences to the People's Republic of China, who have suffered more than anyone else to the threat of these monsters.]" Dmitry then looked at the camera crew for a second before turning back. He then walked over and took a seat at his desk, looking to the side for a minute before turning back to the camera.
"Damy i gospoda Rossiyskoy Federatsii, [Ladies and gentlemen of the Russian Federation.]" he said, before turning to another of the cameras, "Nyet...ladies and gentlemen of the world, in regards to recent attacks from the Global Liberation Army, especially the recent uprising in the United Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation officially declares itself at war with terrorism; I implore our allies, both within and outside of the borders of the CSTO, to declare war in equal measure as well. I will do all in the power of the Russian Federation, even if it means the use of our nuclear arsenal, to eradicate the threat of terrorism, especially from the likes of the GLA, from the world at large. Understand that this is not just for the good of Russia, China, or the U.S.A., but the world as a whole." Dmitry then gave a final, venomous look to the camera, most likely directed towards the GLA and its affiliates, before cutting the camera feed and giving control of the Russian television networks back to their sources. It was done now; Russia was now officially at war with the GLA. The sleeping bear that was the Motherland would awaken, and would bring death to terrorists.
