"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Our top story today is one of controversy and panic in not only the Russian Federation, but beyond its borders in the ECA, United States, and People's Republic of China. Earlier today, we were all shocked to see what appeared to be a mass launch of Russia's nuclear arsenal. From silos and mobile launchers across Siberia, and from submarines in the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, flashing streaks across the skies were seen by many eyewitnesses, and panic ensued. Hethere are some eyewitness reports. Camera views then switched to people from various walks of life, from teachers, to gardeners, to other such things. However, their statements were mainly the same.
"When I woke up and went to walk my dog, I heard a 'fwooshing' sound and saw-uh-many streaks going up from Siberia. It scared me half to death, and we ran all the way back and hid inside under a table."
"I thought it was the end of the world. I was busy teaching my math class and saw missile streaks outside of my window. I reported to other faculty and we ended up herding hundreds of thousands of students to the safe rooms."
"I had just finished watering my garden and eating breakfast when I saw them: the missiles. I stayed and watched them climb into the sky for about 5 minutes before I went back to my business. We were all going to die anyways, why did need to worry about hiding?"
"These launches were, according to multiple sources, unprovoked and the first in a series of exchanged launches from the Bangalore Pact, South American Pact, and North American Unions. After multiple riots in front of the Kremlin and multiple government buildings, President Dmitry Molchanov and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin came forth to explain the situation to the panicking citizens of Russia."
"The Age of the Nuclear Weapon is coming to a close. In the 20th Century, the United States and the USSR were at war with each other: a Cold War, a war to build the largest and most destructive weapons that mankind will ever encounter! I, along with many of the other nations of the world, have put the fears of Mutually Assured Destruction, and the death of mankind by our hands, to an end. This morning, we conducted one final test of our inter-continental ballistic missiles to show the destructive capability that they would have if they were loaded with their weapons. Although we did request that all nuclear countries participate, not all of them did either due to a lack of test missiles or political factors. However, not only did we conduct a test, we also made sure that never again will the nuclear weapon, or similarly-destructive weapons would ever be used against humanity in as terrifying of a fashion as they were before." Many of the papparazi around Dmitry and Putin began taking pictures at the ending comment, to where Dmitry raised his hand with a serious look upon his face.
"It is my pleasure, as well as the pleasure of those who signed this document, to announce that the Cold War policy of Mutually Assured Destruction by any and all weapons is officially ended. The days of awaiting the death of humanity are officially over! And those who wish to bring the death of the world, or to bring terror to the world, will be enemies to those who have signed the document, named the 'Unilateral Disarmament Treaty.' As proof of such, I will list the signing nuclear powers that did not sign, and what they will be seen as in the eyes of the Russian Federation." Dmitry then reached to Putin, who handed him a manila folder, and he cleared his throat as he opened it up.
"The North American Union and its clients, United Korea and Israel, as well as the Bangalore Pact's leading parties, India and Pakistan, have not signed the treaty, even though they had participated in the test. Under the treaty's parameters, the Russian Federation will cease diplomatic relations and embargo all products made from these countries. However, they are still given the chance to sign the treaty and avoid war with other signatories."
"Heed my warning Freephoinex, Mamnoon, Mukherjee. If you do not keep to the treaty's parameters, there will be war between your respective nations and the Russian Federation. Until then, you will be diplomatically, socially, and economically isolated by Russia and its allies." Dmitry then stepped down from the podium with a multitude of voices and pictures following him to the Kremlin before it switched back to the news room.
"Well, you heard it straight from President Molchanov: the end of an era and the beginning of a new one was the reason for what was apparently a mass test launch. However, with such a panic comes consequences. More likely than not, the damage done to the stock markets and the amount of panic people have gone through will need to be quelled. But for now, stay safe and stay wary with the weather for this week."
