*as the ARC News logo comes up on screens, it is cut short by several orange flickers for a moment, then Omar's face appears, sitting at a gratified news station formerly belonging to ARC*
Omar: So you came, Mr. Adler. I was beginning to think that you would allow more to die. Did you enjoy your Christmas?
*Jürgen puts on the mask he made to cover his face, not to hide it, but to hide the anger that can otherwise be felt throughout the room before sitting down*
Schneiden sie die scheiße! Ich weiß, warum sie es taten. What do you want, schwein-hund? (Cut the shit! I know why you did it)
Omar: I wanted to merely talk. About Bangui. About your little secret that you thought you kept. Tell me, soldier, why did you do it?
*Omar leans into the camera, face contorted in anger*
Why did you take away my health?
*Jürgen squints his visible eye as Omar leans in, clenching his fists as he calmly places them on his lap*
Jürgen: You came up with the fear toxin! You bombed the Vatican and the Great Mecca on their holiest days with two dirty bombs! You are the one who forced me to withdraw from North Africa with your fear toxin, inadvertently creating a larger threat than anticipated! And you still believe that I took away your health?
*Jürgen cracks his knuckles before looking back at the screen*
I should be the one to ask: Warum anfang diese ganze scheiße? (Why start all this shit?)
*smirks darkly as I look at Adler's anger, relishing in his raw emotion*
Omar: Simple: to illicit reaction. To incite chaos is only one trying to illicit reaction. I was testing my boundaries in the modern world, and it clearly doesn't take much to send your dogmatic allies into a frenzy, trying to figure out what to do. I'm more than a politician or a so-called "threat to the free world." I'm a man of science, and I wanted to test you all. To see your reactions to my little games. I could have done much, much worse, and you think that two small-yield nuclear weapons are much of a threat? I have the whole world nearly in my grasp, and you haven't done anything about it.
I have friends in higher places than in this backwater landmass that I've been forced to flee to.
*Jürgen nearly laughs when Omar says he hasn't done anything*
Jürgen: I guess humor isn't exactly your forté, terrorist. Though if illicit reaction is what you've wanted, you've done a damn good job of that. You've angered just about everyone here. For one, that's an understatement. Two, that's not a compliment.
*Leans in, squinting his eye once more*
Ich werde mit größerer wahrscheinlichkeit eintausend verschiedene menschen über einen flatterhaften imaginären freund glauben.
(I am more likely to believe a thousand different people over one flighty imaginary friend.)
Omar: If you truly believe me imaginary, then let me ask you. Why do you think Miller's presidency rarely attacked the GLA head on? Why do you believe they spent more on staying out of African conflict as much as possible? He understood my potential, and he didn't wish to get the Americans involved into a conflict that would have cost more lives than it would not. You understood this more than anyone by allowing me direct control of your territories instead of pressing into conflict. And now, your lies have finally caught up with you, and we are now even. Be lucky that I still allow you to collect resources in Africa, rather than have them suffer the same fate as many before them.
*the camera's views change to the hostages in a flicker of orange, Liquidators holding them at the points of their chemical sprayers, loaded with anthrax*
So tell me, Mr. Adler. What scares you more? The anticipation, or the immediate result?
*Jürgen looks to the hostages, then to Omar before breathing out*
Jürgen: It doesn't matter how I answer that question. You'd likely kill them anyways. Speaking of North Africa, if you still believe I have people of the ECA allegedly robbing you of your resources of precious metals, lumber and fertile farmland, then I don't quite believe you're as observant as you think yourself to be.
*frowns as I hear Adler's answer to the hostages, and the camera flickers back to me*
Omar: You can still save them Adler. You only need a push in the right direction!
*flickers back as you watch one of the Liquidators spray one of the hostages in the highly caustic contagion, and you hear what sounds like screams of terror from outside of your home*
Robbing? I would use the word "stealing" than I would use the word of a petty criminal, but believe what you wish. You are robbing my resources from my territories. However, I am letting you rob them. Now, answer my question. What are you scared of more? The anticipation, or the immediate result?!
*has another Liquidator kill another one of the hostages, and you hear the same screams come from outside as it flickers back*
Music to the Ears of the Many
*Upon seeing how the liquidator is executing them, and the screams that sound as though they're coming from out of his home, he immediately bends over, going off screen for a moment, taking off his mask momentarily to spew everything out of his guts and into a bucket that was nearby, soon washing his mouth out with a nearby glass of clear water to get the foul taste of bile and other fluids out of his mouth before putting his mask back on and getting back on screen*
[I've been through too much shit for the anticipation to have any effect on me. And by doing this, you've just declared war on Europe. You will wish you had not, terrorist.]
*grimaces as I feel that I still do not have my answer*
Omar: You still have not answered my question. What are you scared of more?! The anticipation, or the immediate effect?!
*has another Liquidator execute several more hostages, resulting in more terrified screams*
*Jürgen bends off screen and spews more, and soon goes into dry heaving with how the executions continue going, even worse with how the screams are, reminding him of his fellow soldiers whom had fallen at the toxins of the late Dr. Thrax with his anthrax beta toxin, as tears fall from his eyes, landing outside of the bucket as the screams of agony and pain could be heard, resonating throughout his mind, all too clear a message for him "They could have been saved." before he got back up, paler now due to how much energy he expended from the dry heaves*
[You've gone too far. Since I don't believe you'll stop even after you have your answer. I'll risk it anyways even after I gave you my answer, swine dog. The immediate result is what strikes the pin of fear in my own blood and that of my kinsmen.]
*holds up my hand as a Liquidator is about to kill the last few hostages, smirking at the answer*
Omar: And that's what saved poor Mumin from the terrible fate.
*goes off camera and pulls the News Anchor, of whom is tear stricken, into view*
You just admitted what most people could not. You were afraid. You were afraid that someone would die. You were, and still are afraid of the immediate consequences.
*switches the view to the hostages and I walk into view again*
And that fear, makes you MINE...
*aims my arm at the group of hostages and squeezes my fist down as a fine mist of Fear Toxin is sprayed at the hostages, who immediately begin screaming in terror and panic before they go into either shock or a fear-induced coma
*
Listen closely, and listen well, Adler. I don't like you! And because I don't like you, I'm going to toy with you for as long as I want! And you are going to listen to everything I say and do it when I say it! First, you are going to take out your resource collectors from my land, or they are going to be shot down like the dogs they are! Second, you are going to fight your own battles, like the Eurasian Collectivists' Revolution, rather than me! And finally, you are going to stay out of Africa!
*leans in close to the camera and my voices crackles and growls with malice*
Or you will bring death to all who follow you!
*the image cuts to orange static before the connection itself is terminated, leaving only blackness on Jürgen's TV set, however, the broadcast continues on TVs everywhere*
Omar: So you came, Mr. Adler. I was beginning to think that you would allow more to die. Did you enjoy your Christmas?
